it took me a minute to get what you were saying about the F in sex. I guess I'm feeling a little brain fried too. I've been very tired all day also. I think we get tired in winter because secretly we'd all like to just hybernate till spring.

One of us needs a much longer arm, Merme. Or a longer serving spoon.
College applications are such tricksy things, Tina! I wish you well with Jonni's!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
I'm still on my first cup. I don't have to be to work till 9:30. I hate going in that late, but it will be a short day. So I guess it's all good. what's for breakfast?

I am on my first cup also. But food still doesn't sound good yet. I had to google F.A.F.S.A., Carol, because I had no clue. No loans required at this time. If she wants to become a doctor or lawyer down the line then she can do her own loan applications. But her basic education is covered for now. She really doesn't know what she wants to do when she grows up yet. And that is OK with me.

I finally got around to a haircut last night. I feel quite light-headed this morning. And I can see without brushing my hair out of my eyes. It is about time to get my son off to school. And we have company coming this morning.

Good morning all. I have seen these threads on several occasions and finally figured they are just a general day to day chat post! I'm slow on the uptake I guess. Any way its cold and snowing here.. AGAIN.. Kim
Sheri ~ watch those PayDay's....they can sneak up on you, the tricksy things!
Kim ~ welcome to the Coffeehouse! Yup, this is general chat. Sometimes it gets pretty wild if a bunch of us are all on at once and you have to scroll back and forth so as not to miss anything. Other times, nobody is home and you gotta knock really really loudly "Anybody here?" Somebody generally will answer, however faintly! Here also you will usually find all manner of cyber foods and drinks being offered, so help yourself!

Sounds like my kind of Place Merme! Looking outside for me right now, I hate the idea of venturing out. Cold and snowy. You would think after over 20 years living in Michigan I would get used to it! The older I get the more I despise it! LOL It would not be so bad if we could have some sun here more than for 5 minutes once a month! I am only slightly exagerating.
This is as close to chat as we get. It is good for general conversation and catching up on old and new friends, Kim. I am glad you found your way here. When we get up to around 100 posts we close down the coffee shop and open the next one. We are at 2146 now. That is an awful lot of gab. I got my kids off to school. Now my stove top is in pieces so I can scrub it all up. I am ashamed to say, I do not do that often enough. But It really, really needed it because Jonni has taken to frying up some foods. And frying makes for big messes. Next lesson for her is cleaning up after yourself. Of course, I have tried embedding that lesson for most of her 17 years.

Good Luck Tina.... imparting that lesson is one of the hardest as I am sure you know... I did my stove top the other day- when I got my new stove I promised myself to do that at least once a month... so far so good.... Hi Kim glad you found the coffee houses to be homey too... we have snow here too and since we moved here from Az getting used to the cold and winters was no fun- we like it now- we do get sun for part of most days though so not gloomy- though in Feb when it is I really have to work on not getting depressed... thats when it gets nasty here.... I paid bills this morning- gotta make my grocery list and get my coupons out too... check out the ads to see what is on sale....so that we can go shopping after the boys get picked up and hopefully before the roads freeze again... its all of 27*...right now. Nana
We have a cool wind right now but it is supposed to be low 70's today. I think kids don't really learn lessons of cleaning until the stuff is theirs. If they earned it and want it to shine... At least that was how it was with my older kids. I am making a grocery list too. I will stop and shop before I pick my son up from school. I hope I remember to take my list.....

I didn't mean to abandon y'all this morning. I was buzzing around here getting ready for dialysis and posting in between tasks. Just minutes before I had to leave, I typed a post to Kim and my pc froze! There just wasn't time to reboot. Sorry about that!
Tina ~ when I was young I had plenty of energy for and found it far more interesting to clean other people's houses than my mom's! I'd be gone all day and when I came back she'd ask me what I had been doing? Oh, we had fun; we cleaned all day! My mom would roll her eyes.

Tina--The rukles may have changed--but yo may want to check up on them---when the kids were going---one ientered in fall of 1998 and one in the fall of 2004---you had to apply every year--wheather yo uused it or not--so thsat if you ever needed it, you coukld in fack use it.----
We never did have to apply for extra aide for either child--but we didn't know--so we appled every year.--

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
That is good to know, Carol Jean! I will keep that in mind for when it is Maxi's turn.
I am hoping to get Maxi into Chevrus High School; it is the premiere Catholic HS in our area. It used to be all boys but it changed to co-ed. It is a wonderful place! He would attend on Scholarship and I think it would be excellent for him.

See you later!

sounds like an excellent school for maxi, merme. man, this has been a quick week I guess. it seems like just the other day you were saying how much you were going to miss him.
Ditchy, you haven't been in the coffeehouse before???? well, it took me a long while after I first joined the garden helper to 'get' the coffee house. it seemed like some kind of secret club. everyone seemed so close and all. once I started posting in here I realized these crazy people will yack with anyone! looking forward to hearing from you more! it will be below freezing for a bit here tonight. for us that is COLD.

Yes, freezing is cold wherever you live. It is FREEZING!
I hope you stay snug and warm!
I know; this week has simply sped past! And I'm anxiously pacing because Maxi should have been home by 4 and he isn't here yet (after 6). They must have been delayed but I wish they had called!
Plus, I will still have to make dinner when he gets here.... Now I'm going to keep it ohsovery easy!

Oh no Merme, I'm causing trouble already! I may be snowed in by Sunday. We are getting what is known in Michigan as "Lake Effect" snow. One minute its not doing a thing, the next it is so heavy you cannot see your hand in front of you., I am glad we dont live near the lake shore, they get dumped opn twice as much as us. we are further north. and inland. I think I will bake some toll house cookies tonight, I am alone, and its snowing, and Diet be damned! LOL I have a friend who needs some cheering up, I think I will bring them to her tomorrow. Anyone want some??
are you feeling better merme since you've laid down, or did you even get to that?
were a secret club of yackers!
It was nice to hear you say 'freezing' temps are cold where ever you are. sometimes I feel guilty about complaining when we get temps below the freezing mark for just an hour before it warms back up. I know some of you stay below freezing for days! yikes.

CRICKET! Never, ever feel guilty for who you are, what you have, what makes your feelings feel! If you have weather that is annoying to you, we want to hear about it!
I did lay down for half an hour. When Maxi arrived, he was carrying a pizza. That made dinner exceptionally easy.
Now I am ready for some of Kim's Tollhouse.

mmmmmm...........pizza and cookies. two of each for me please! I'm afraid all I have to offer is some cold beer and onion bagels. hey, the onion flavored bagles are pretty darn good with butter and garlic salt on them. I have GOT to get to the grocery store soon!
Ok merme. I'll vent about the weather. I can't stand it when the temp gets below 60 degrees. (don't know what that is in celius....anyone????

i want the cookies! and, tina, the fafsa has to be done every year, as carol said, because, if a student gets any kind of scholarship and doesn't have a fafsa on file, if the school receives federal funds, they cannot distribute it. because scholarships are considered "aid". there are rules and rules on it, but your best bet is to call the financial aid office of the school she is looking at.
ellie works in financial aid at one of the schools here, and i'm glad. it makes it easier to understand.
kim, i don't post a lot, most of the time, then, they can't shut me up. right folks?!
