Just saying hello! Trying to recouperate from a total of 6 hours all together out in this storm.
Thank god for my eskimp parka and snow mobile boots. I was never cold but the wind did blow snow in my face a few times. My face is very chapped. I look like I have a sunburn, ITs worse now that I took a shower.
I am ok with doing all this I sure burned up the chocolate cookies I was snacking on all weekend.
Thats why I never bake.. CAuse I eat them.
Off to do office work before you know who gets home. I think hes leaving on Tues for NC.

My girl didn't come this weekend and so didn't shop for me. I just saw that I only have enough coffee grinds for one more pot! I hope she comes tomorrow.

I'm going to go sit some place more comfortable and work on my crochet.

I am very glad that Merme has such a nice smile.

Well, speaking of crochetting...my kids walked in on me crochetting their blankets. I told them I was making them for my cousin who is expecting a baby but I didn't know what colors the nursery would be or if it would be a boy or girl so I just decided to make two. the youngest, my daughter, bought the story. but, my son didn't. I realized after I said that, I had told him the other day it was a scarf for my boss. he didn't say anything though. but I saw the smile on his face and he crawled up in bed with me and gave me a huge good night hug when he wasn't even heading off to bed. ha ha
good news though, they both LOVE the colors I picked out for each of them. And, I'll be able to crochet in front of them now without trying to hide out in the bedroom. that'll make getting them finished much easier.

doesn't she or someone have to let you know if she's not going to show up? You need to be able to make plans or whatever agency she's working for needs to send someone else. A woman needs her coffee!!! (not this woman but some women)

where in NC? When I bake I eat it all too because Johnny doesn't eat sweets.

But then I guess he made his mind up a while ago, he would rather spend time with his sister and her kids. Nuff Said.
Anyhoo. No more baking for me, I just made them for the lady who owns the barn where I keep my horse and my pottery instructor. Too bad I ate a bunch of them. Still have to deliver them!

Cindy is pretty funny. I gotta say though that Mark is the funniest person I personally know........he's a practical jokester.......or as Cindy kept calling him, the young whippersnapper.

Many days I'll hear him laughing and I'll say what are you laughing at....and he'll be laughing at himself......he's always laughing. Good for me because I'm more serious so we balance each other out....although there are days where I'm like UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, not everything is funny--can you be serious for 2 minutes?

10 minutes left on my battery. Better shut down and read. Night Merme. And anyone else that is around.

Had an interesting night tonight. We watched a video of Christmas 1998. WOW. Just 10 years ago and it feels like yesterday in a way, but in another way it feels like 50 years ago. It was the year Mark gave me my engagement ring.

Goodmorning everyone---I just wanted to drop in before I have to get ready to go out for the day---I have a Drs. appt. to go to and then I am out to finish my Christmas shopping.--Valarie may go with me---

Morning all! I'll be headed out the door here shortly too. I'm ready to get this two day work week behind me. ya ever notice how much LONGER the short weeks are than regular weeks?

Kids have a 2 hour delay today due to the cold. They do that here because so many kids have to walk to the bus stops a pretty good way. Athena should have her makeup Christmas program at school. We missed it last week because they ended up with a 2 hour dismissal due to freezing rain.

Cricket, I think the week before Christmas drags by so slowly! I think because I'm so excited for it to get here.

good morning everyone. i'm off today, so i thought i'd peek in. going to go do some errands and then move from there.

Jiffy, my friend, I think you are actually 'off' everyday, jmo. But it is very nice to see you. We are a matched set.
I slept in today and woke to jonni on my computer cruising my recipes sites. She wanted to do an elaborate breakfast dish that involved bringing out the mixer and making a egg whites fluffy and such. This is so not happening before coffee. I have her in the kitchen cooking an egg in a hole in bread (egg in a nest). She doesn't ever remember having it before.
And I am enjoying my first cup.

Well, All of John's nieces and nephews (maternal side of his family) were coming up tomorrow with all of their youngsters. I have been clening a bit in prep for the couple of newborns and such. Slow going because of my cold and the degree of mess involved. Got a call. They canceled tomorrow.
They are coming up today instead. In an hour or so. Gotta boogie. They will not be getting the foods i had planned for tomorrow.

I sent my girl off to the grocery and to the dollar store with a massive list! She understands me in a way many of my other helpers do not and I believe she will do a great job at it.

I also ordered our beef roast for pick up on Wednesday. He is doing a top surloin for me, about 6 lbs. Our local butcher does a fantastic job with orders. He nearly convinced me to try a standing rib roast but I've never made one before and would be hesitant to try one on Christmas Day for the first time. Although, I may just go ahead and try one in January when we have company.

Today I am scurrying, trying to complete a hundred tasks in a single day!

I have done just about all I intend to for all of the people coming today. It is more than we are prepared for at this time. All of our extra chairs are even in storage and I am not dragging them out and dusting them. I hope the near and dear that live within an hour or two make a short visit and leave soon so the longer distance people get their 'Uncle john' time in. And if the grandparents will take the kiddoes home with them, that would be fine with me. Just not ready for a lengthy Christmas party.
I'm thinking it is 7 kids and as many adults or more. I am selfishly wishing they won't stay long. I wish they could have all come at separate times for more lengthy visits and better weather so the kids could go outside and goof around. We have an acre of fun kid stuff out there but it is raining and muddy and they will all be dressed up because they got together for pics.
Well, you can probably tell by my run-on sentences that my mind is racing.

Happy cold day to you all... we are dealing with one with a tummy bug-Derek, and one with croup, Nicoli... they are both being very quiet today...Timothy is fine so he just went to the drug store to get us some meds for them with Papa.
We got our homemade tamales for Christmas Eve too- I am planning on making more banana bread today and sugar cookies for the kids , Carrie will take some to work and so will Joe on Christmas Eve.. may end up doing that after the boys go home today...
We have another storm coming in tonight- may get a little snow out of it here- the mtns are getting most of it- makes the skiiers happy... makes it hard for the travelers though... and it is cold now-- 12* and not supposed to warm up much...
