I know scientific studies but I don't always believe them .But I hate my feet getting cold because I have always had poor circulation there and cannot get them warm very fast without help. The studies also say that ear infections are not caused by teething in babies. Phooey, I say. If not directly than the excess saliva and mucus does a job on their poor ears. And I have my own theories about getting chilled/wet lowering immune systems as well. I have 129 accumulated mothering years to back up my theories. Not too shabby for a 58 year old!

I'm 52 and only have a few grey hairs around the temples. Since my hair color is very light, the grey doesn't show much. Does it still count?

I won't dye over them, either, Afgrey. I believe in the natural beauty involved with aging gracefully. Well, at least aging crazily if not exactly gracefully! lol

When Bill refers to grey hair as silver, perhaps he is remembering that very old song "Silver Threads Among The Gold". I don't know what year it was composed, but the writer lived a long time ago.
.

Silver Threads Among the Gold

Eben E. Rexford, 1848-1916

Darling, I am growing old,
Silver threads among the gold
Shine upon my brow today;
Life is fading fast away;
But, my darling, you will be, will be,
Always young and fair to me,
Yes, my darling, you will be,
Always young and fair to me.

Chorus:

When your hair is silver white,
And your cheeks no longer bright,
With the roses of the May;
I will kiss your lips and say-
Oh! my darling, mine alone, alone,
You have never older grown,
Yes, my darling, mine alone,
You have never older grown.

Chorus:

Love can never more grow old,
Locks may lose their brown and gold,
Cheeks may fade and hollow grow,
But the hearts that love will know
Never, never, winter's frost and chill:
Summer warmth is in them still-
Never winter's frost and chill,
Summer warmth is in them still.

Chorus:

Love is always young and fair,-
What to us is silver hair,
Faded cheeks or steps grown slow,
To the heart that beats below?
Since I kissed you, mine alone, alone,
You have never older grown-
Since I kissed you, mine alone,
You have never older grown.
Chorus:

Chorus:
Darling, I am growing old,
Silver threads among the gold,
Shine upon my brow today;
Life is fading fast away.

No, Cindy. Mine is completely gray ( I say silver too) in the front and the sides. I started graying early and when my mother passed away in '88 I had more gray than she did. She was jealous. No dye for me. I love 'em and have earned them.
When I went in this year to change the name on my drivers license I put gray/brown on my application. The lady says you can't have two colors so I asked her which one was me. She was embarrassed but said gray. I was thrilled!. I am gray on my license and mostly gray on my head too. Cool! I do like it.

I can't believe I'm still up. But I'm having a digestive problem tonight and can't go to bed until it resolves, because it takes me far too long to get out of bed and into the bathroom. It's been half an hour since the last episode. If nothing else happens within an hour, I'll go to bed.

Meantime, I'm having a last cup of Red rose Tea.

Good night, Tina.

I just realized that although Maxi brought his PS2 home, he forgot the controller. Santa gave him PS2 games and those DVD's and now he will not be able to do anything with them!!! tears

lol Put me in the "will always color hair" section. lol I would never have plastic surgery or botox or anything like that---never ever. But I come from a long line of women who don't go gray. Not that there is anything wrong with being natural---it's just not for me.

Merry Christmas everyone. I woke up at 5am and my head is hurting and I couldn't get back to sleep....I tried trust me. And maybe I'm a tad excited this morning too. grin I need to be over there before Athena gets up so that I can see her come down the stairs. grin

Come 10am I'll be falling asleep. Last year I napped on the way home from Marks families.....he was a little jealous I could do that while he had to drive. lol

So we'll probably start the morning around 7:30 or so I figure....mom makes muffins and we have them with coffee. We'll probably be opening until around 10am or so and by the time we are finished and get our stuff gathered up to come back over here I'll need to go upstairs and get myself looking "unscary" for Marks family. Well get out there around 12:30, eat at 1pm and probably leave around 3pm to get back to moms so we can eat there at 5pm. What a day. My sister has to leave around noon to go get my older niece.

I'm very Christmasy today. I have on my velvet shirt with Santa in his sleigh, my new socks, and pssst---I even broke out the Christmas undies. lol Not that anyone will see that! haha Oh and I have in my earrings that are presents on gold hoops, and my snowflake necklace. And finally, my Santa hat that I wear every year.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. kissie I'm heading to get some Advil in me. kissie

Merry Christmas One And All.....

I have a few minutes here---Hot Mulled Cider, Christmas Cookies (yes) and Chocolate Biscotti are on the counter for breakfast. At present we are drinking coffee waiting for the Cider flavors to fuse.

I wish I could speak to everyone---but I must get going---I'll be back later tonight. :ding: & kissie to everyone !!!

We just got the Roast Beast in the oven and are planning to have dinner at 6. It should be a tasty feast as we surrounded the beef with red potatoes, celery, a turnip, and carrots. I will make a Yorkshire Pudding later and dinner rolls, too.

Maxi went outside and was working on his snow fort for a while.

It is a lovely day and there is a Star Wars version of Monopoly in our future activities.

Star Wars Monopoly sounds like fun. I have a couple of versions of Monopoly and they are all fun. Roast beast sounds pretty good too.
We are having a foggy, rainy stay-at-home day. Well, except Jonni will be out cruising the neighborhood later on. She has been invited to a Christmas dinner with neighbors. I am cooking up some things here; invalid cooking sort of.

Maxi and I had a nice addition to our day. My good friend Lori brought two of her sons down for a visit! It was so good to see them! She & I had been neighbors in Portland a few years before Maxi was born, while her boys were small. Then she moved to a town about an hour away and life is so busy we rarely see each other, though we keep in close touch. Her younest is 6 months younger than Maxi, and she has two older boys as well.

The visit made the holiday even more special.

Ok, I have a lot of jasmine rice cooked up in chicken broth and bagged in meal sized bags and most frozen. I have chicken, celery and onions cooking for a creamed chicken to serve over some of that rice later. I have a few more meals of chicken prepared and ready for future meals in the freezer. I also made some rice and apple pudding. I have shrimp scampi frozen in meal sized packages (to also serve over rice or pasta).
None of this sounds good to me for my dinner tonight. I want to go to someone else's house to eat a dinner I didn't cook. How sad is that?

Thank you, that sounds good too.
Well, I settled on some potato chips followed by better than sex brownies (I ate 3). Or maybe I ate them the other way around. Then napped it all off. I am back to cooking again. All of that and John wanted a grilled cheese for lunch. But a good dinner is ready when he is now.

Well, those particular brownies didn't set up as they should have. I think we hurried them along too fast. But even gooey they are scrumptious.

My Christmas was good and very, very quiet. Our Christmas is postponed this year to a more funner time. So I hung around my computer most of the day with my friends when I wasn't cooking for the week ahead.
