Dodge they love coats and shirts as well. Thanks for your kind words. They all come to get their coats on before going outside and come get them off whn=en they come in. Ernie will get his head in the head hole of his shirt then come over and pick up each foot for me to put his legs through the leg holes.

Do Allie and Emmy get together often? My dog I had growing up Scamp, well his mom lived 2 houses up from us...and I'd take him up there a lot to see her and they'd stand at the fence sniffing each other and wagging tails. I guess they must know from scent that they belong together huh?
Jimmy I love those coats and shirts on your doggies. I especially love Ernie. Basset Hounds always look so sad to me. Like they just need a big hug! How cute would it be to have another dog and name it Bert. So you had Bert and Ernie. I could never do that though because Ernie was my grandads name and it would just feel weird to name a dog after my grandad.

No they dont get together ofter But they know who we are talking about when I say Where's Allie.. same for Jimmy speaking of Emmy,,, Jimmy kept Emmy While I was IN Washington Because Dwight didn't want her being here at the house so Long by her self,,,, This coming from a person that didn 't want me to get a dog in the first place Now he's worried about her being alone too long,,, .
Jimmy Do the doggies get up set like Emmy does when you have to take the coats off when they come in the house??

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I didn't try to train them to get in the coats guess it comes natural to them. Ernie may have used them before because she sure wanted the girls and knows how to put his head through the neck hole and his feet need to go in the arm holes . You may remember one of my Grand daughters brought him to me a couple of years back when his old owners kicked him and his cat out when the had a new baby . HMMMM wonder if the had another baby if they kicked the first one out? Yes Diane when I take off their coats they get mad and want them on I told you what I did to make them take off the coats in the house outside of telling them if they wore them in the house then outside they would freeze their Bippies off. LOz Hunter is the daddy he was taken out of my house last spring no sight or word of him since. I have been to all the vets and pounds and Humane societies I could find.

At first Allie wanted no part of another dog on me and sleeping with me but in a couple of days she decided she wanted to be near me more then she wanted to growl and snap at Emmy

sorry about your one doggie gone. I had that happen to a beagle of mine several years ago. it is surely hard to say goodbye when you don't know what happened to them.
but, OMG! what cute little pups in their sweaters! they are just adorable! my girls (2 lab litter mates) love their sweaters too. I have to take them off of them when they come in the house. they never want theirs to come off either. a couple of times they've ended up sleeping in them inside the house. oooppps! but they didn't seem to mind?

Friday I took Ernie shopping for a new coat. Tried for a US Army or camouflage that fit so we settled for a blue one. You wouldn't think a Basset would be that hard to fit. Ernie loves his new coat and never wants it off.
On the way out he spotted the raw hide bones. I told him no bones today maybe later. I have never seen a little dog that attract so many women wanting to pet him and tell me about their Basset they have or use to have. I will never leave the house without him again like meeting pretty women so I will use what ever means I can to meet them.
