Well, we finally finished with the inside of the house and hubby surprised me on Saturday with waking me up to a freshly tilled garden area in the back! luv

Now my question is...is it too late in the year (Oct) to plant some fruit or vegies? I live in Nor. (more in the middle) CA.

Thanks guys!

Middle Cal You should be able to plant cool weather crops.
Broccoli
Cabbage
Brussels sprouts
cauliflower
peas
A list to start.
I'm not too sure of fruits although I have planted strawberries at this time of year and gotten an early crop.
I'm not sure of an on line source but if you can find yourself a copy of Sunset Western Garden Book you will never regret it. Try used bookstores in your area. They are also available at most Home Depots or Lowes around here but can be a little pricey. Or a library should have a copy to check out.

I am in NorCal as well [Solano County]. See list of vegetables from jonni13's post. Try direct seed planting rather than transplanting seedlings. I am growing fast maturing radishes, plus chives, cilantro, garlic, leeks, onion and parsley. I have limited garden space; these plants are grown in containers. See links below for additional information.
