I am so glad I am beyond PMS. your not referring to me complaining about my b.i.l, are you? Nope, not at all. Did you finally leave them on your porch as you drove off?

as we were loading up, hubby said he was gonna take a nap after we left. ha ha they went ahead and left too. I guess he'll have to find someone else to cook his steaks and baked potatoes. I'm glad that fiasco is over with for a while. and I forgot to look for solar lights at walmart, darn it! I did get the yarn I need to finish up one project and start on the next. and I still have to get back to making those slippers from merme's instructions. I have a lot of crochetting to do before spring. once it warms up, it is very hard for me to pick back up the yarn. I got a new pair of tennis shoes too. my other ones have no tread on them anymore. and the kidos got what they were after. it was a good trip. a good end to a chaotic afternoon. we topped it off by stopping at the bbq place in town and getting a pound of chopped beef and a pound of links. we came home and made delicious sandwiches.

Gosh I just heard that some people in Kentucky may not get power for 3 weeks.
Cricket, is this your husbands brother that's such a nuisance? They live an hour from you? Do you like his wife? My sister goes and stays at my mothers when her inlaws come. She used to get mad because they were such pigs and used her house like a hotel and they expected the hotel maid to clean up after them so she just started leaving. They don't seem to mind. They continue to come even though they're never invited.

yes, it's my husbands brother. he's divorced. he started all this coming over uninvited nonsense after the divorce. it is free entertainment for his kids. they live in the city and he buys his kids go-carts and shot guns...stuff they can't use at their own house. so he feels he can bring them out anytime to run a muck on our property. two uncles have already barred them from coming to their place. they both live on a lake (seperate lakes) and they were going up there all the time uninvited to go fishing.
some of us down here were out of power for three weeks after Ike. I know how bad that was for some, but good grief it wasn't the frozen tundra! it wasn't even extreamly hot. I just can't imagine!

does he just do it when the children are with him? Maybe he's using you guys to baby sit so he doesn't have to do it by himself. My step son used to come to our house every Monday when his wife worked late. He brought both the girls, put them inside with me then went outside to smoke. They would be here 15 minutes after I got home from work. I fed them dinner, changed their diapers everything. After a while I got sick of it and started not coming straight home. I told my husband that he and Johnny needed to spend time together without me in the way. After a while he stopped coming so I'm sure he didn't want to stay with his children alone and have to do all the work. I love the girls and wouldn't have minded if either he or my husband had helped a little.

OMG, I just got the sh*t scared out of me. A huge chunk of ice fell off the roof and made a terrible noise. I thought for sure someone was coming in here on me.
Cricket, that would drive me nuts. I'm not so nice and don't have a clue how to bite my tongue so they would hear a mouth full from me. I'm glad me or Jeremy neither one have brothers or sisters.

Rachel, that wouldda scared me too! Ice falling can be so noisy!! We had a nice time making our big pot of chili tonight. And an even better time eating it!! We made enough for leftovers & to freeze! It'll be good again another time. Maxi got all busy reading short stories on-line tonight. He read & read & read. Then when he was finally ready for bed, he laid down and was sound asleep instantly. I am always amazed that he does that all the time. I am a tosser & turner & it can take awhile for me to get down into a sleep. But not the kid. His head hits the pillow and that's it! If he is awake for 5 minutes after going to bed he will call to me "Mommy, I can't sleep! What is wrong?!" Then I lead him through the little routine I taught him when he was very young.... "Stretch as far as you can, and a big, deep yawn... s-t-r-e-t-c-h! Now wiggle wiggle wiggle to get all comfy & cozy. Now close your eyes & think happy thoughts. I'll see you later in dreamland...." Sure enough, he goes out cold by the time I get to the last sentence! It must be his clear conscience!! Safe away home O my palies and sweet dreams to you all. Merme

Good morning, everybody! Gee, I'm sorry I missed G-mom. I would have liked to have visited with her today. When we got up we thought it was already snowing. Maxi opened the front door & was surprised to see it wasn't! But oh man, it sure looks like it is going to soon. We decided we needed fried potatoes & eggs for breakfast, so we scurried about with the pots & pans. It was worth the effort, sleepyheaded or not. Merme

Hi All, Guess everyone is watching the pregame stuff- me I am no fan even when AZ is playing.... so I did some housecleaning while Mom is at sis's watching the game with them... opened up the house too - sun is out and it is not exactly warm but have to take advantage when I can... got two levels done today - now I have to do the bbq mini hotdogs and some baked taters ready to go for when it's halftime and we are ready to eat... have some shrimp and sauce to eat and nachos and guacolmole too...not healthy but diets restart tomorrow. Well off to finish up and get dinner stuff started.... have fun everyone! Nana

Gee I really dislike it when Maxi leaves. The house just seems so empty!
My siatic nerves are bothering me tonight. I keep getting on the couch so I can sit at a different angle & get some relief, but. I missed my last back appointment & am really feeling it!
I am not in any mood to cook tonight, so I am having mini bologna & cheese sandwiches. Not the best choice for me, but I don't want any of our leftovers & don't want to cook fresh. So, bologna it is.
It is super cold here tonight.
Today Maxi & I watched The Way We Were. Yesterday we watched The Pink Panther.
I like introducing the kid to great performers & wonderful performances.

The original with Peter Sellers & David Niven. No I can't take Motrin. My next back appointment is in about a week. I am ready for spring-like weather. But at least our days are getting noticably longer. Merme

Good morning everybody.
My new girl starts today. The agency pulled the other girl because she was so unreliable. The new one is sweet but inexperienced... she's getting on-the-job training with me. That's okay, too.
Nana the stretches do help me a bit but what has been really helping the most for now is the three injections the doc has been doing on each side. I missed those when I had to cancel the appointment. The injection sites are quite sore for about a day, but they really help.

I have a lot I want to do today. I didn't watch the superbowl. I usually like to watch for an excuse to snack and I like the commercials, but I just wasn't in the mood for any of it last night.

good afternoon. I spent the morning with John at the hospital until they got him settled in for a transfusion. Ran an errand and ran home. I'm afraid to nap and oversleep picking John back up again.

I am holding up pretty good. I actually get a lot of 'time off'. But the Hurry up and wait time wears on me a bit. I'd rather be outside with a rake or something.

'hospital time'...I called it. You could look at the clock five times and it's still the same time as when you looked at it the first time. then the next time you looked two hours or more had gone by. I don't know that going back and forth is any better than being camped out up there. my mom was in a hospital over an hour away, so I camped out a lot. well, I'm having an easy end to my day. I just popped frozen lasagna in the oven. neither kido had any homework to speak of, and all the 'have to' chores are done for the day.....when is bedtime???...this 'non drowsy' cold medicine has be longing for my pillow and blanket and a dark room!

I'm glad you are having fun with your crochet, Cricket. It sounds nice. I've had a very long day and am just kinda in a daze. Not really sleepy now that I have had a short nap, but not energetic to do anything. I heated up leftovers for my dinner but don't have the energy or interest to eat. I may just continue to sit and stare!! Merme

I feel like I am coming down with something, truth to tell, Carol Jean.
I finally got up the energy to make a bit of soup and will have that soon.
I think I should take some Tylenol and go to bed after that and "sleep off" whatever it is!
Enjoy your popcorn.

Good morning everybody ~
I am in the midst of a busy "day off".

hi everyone....just jumping in to say and bye! I have some errands to run but thought I would say something for once. I am in most days reading but have nothing to say. OUr snow is melting and I can't go shoeing and I am bored. I have cabin fever! Off to do those errands.....whoohoo, something to do for once.
