Actually I think it is funny that afgrey slammed her own bad self in the last CH.

Hi Cricket. I'm glad you found us!

OMG, I need a new computer, desperately. Just turning pages here freezes the program, so I have to launch IE again, come here, log in again, and come back. If I can't get a screen here that is the right colors, then I have to reboot. Sometimes it is very frustrating!

No I haven't, Cricket. My computer belongs to someone else and he's set limits as to what I am allowed to do with it. He is a computer expert and usually does those tasks himself when he visits. But he hasn't visited in a year!

I just have to bring up something from the old CH because I am sitting here laughing and I can't stop. The snow shoeing conversation...it is really funny! I have never thought of snow shoeing in the way that you do I guess Cricket! I liked your description...round wicker things that people wear on their feet that you have seen on TV. haha That was really funny to me!! There are some wooden ones. James has a metal pair. They are really nice and make a big difference when you need to walk through snow. It can really be a lot of fun. We have to make the best of our weather I guess so we learn to enjoy those sorts of things! I just had to bring this back up because this really cracked me up. lol

If you have never really seen it you don't understand some things. I never wanted to go downhill skiing but I enjoyed cross country a lot. It was heavy hard work but a lot of fun. I never 'shoed'.

Good morning, everybody!

I am really glad our storm yesterday didn't amount to much.

I've got a busy day but the early coffee is good and eggs w/ toast will be soon.

I just cannot deal with food too early in the mornings most days. Jonni just ate most of a twice baked potato (I cooked ahead and froze) and wanted to know if I wanted to finish it. Most of the time I jump at the opportunity but not so early. But my dog is happy.

good to know I made some of you laugh with my description of the visual I got from shoeing. I wasn't trying to be funny, but whatever works. lol

I'm cooking up some stew this evening. I have only one load of laundry to fold and one load of dishes. then I plan on eating a bite and getting under some covers for the rest of the evening. I'm still fighting this cold and am dead dog tired tonight. I may try to pop back in.

ooohhh, I love stroganoff tina!

I went to start on that laundry, which is staring my down, and got to thinking about about the shoeing again. And, what jessica was saying about how you have to have fun with the weather you have. Years ago when I was in college, we had a pretty bad ice storm. very rare around here! We had this huge hill across the way from our dorm and we all carried our laundry baskets to the top of the hill and sledded down. ha ha. it was so much fun. a bit scarry at the end, though cause the hill leveled out only a few feet before the 3 foot concrete retaining wall, then the parking lot. ha ha. we had to learn quickly to make short stops...in ice! ha ha. it's a wonder no one got hurt seriously.

The things I used to do when I was young and stupid. I told my kids about a few, then told them if they wanted to try it, just let me know so I could kill 'em before I was shocked by an accidental death.

I hope I didn't hurt any feelings by laughing about the shoeing. I wasn't trying to make anybody feel bad. It just gave me a chuckle. I wasn't really laughing AT anyone!

As did the mental image of Cricket flying down the ice hill in a laundry basket!

Hi everybody----- wavy wavy

Valarie and her room mate used food trays from the cafeteria to slide down the hill when they were in college. They both still have their trays. She said they were piled up outside by the cafeteria door--so they muat have been old ones the help the kids to use as sleds???

I've been home since 5 but just couldn't pull myself together well enough to visit w/ y'all. I ate a little something & crashed on the couch for a while. Now I'm having a fresh coffee & a small sandwich and am feeling MUCH restored.

My new agency has been sending me girls that work so well they don't leave me many chores to do! I turn around to do something and she is already doing it. I put something on my to do list and she nails it first. I've had 4 girls from this agency and they all work like that! I'm starting to feel like I have a life of leisure.

My new girl can't come on Friday mornings because of a babysitting issue. So we worked out a deal where she will come on Friday evenings. This will be PERFECT because when I get home from dialysis on Friday's I am completely done in... really rough shape. But Maxi is here & I need to stay on top to get dinner on and whatnot. This will be wonderful to have her come then. I can rest and she can get dinner started. This will be so much better for us.
