Word of encouragement Thorniui?

We've lived in that house a long time and they've always been waaaaay out in the pecan trees feeding on the ground.. Wonder what's brought them up. Hmmm. Maybe Lizzy the killer cat has chased them off the ground. Well, they're not getting any more suet for a while.

I came home today and all the seeds in every feeder, except the finch feeder, are gone. Are these migratory birds and they're going away. A while ago I looked out the window and my driveway was covered with a million of them. Well, maybe not a million. More like 30. My husband said he feels like he's in the movie The Birds. Lizzy the killer cat was in the shrubs so maybe she'll get one or two. I hope they move on.

The Common Grackle is an opportunistic forager, taking advantage of whatever food sources it can find. It will follow plows for invertebrates and mice, wade into water to catch small fish, and sometimes kill and eat other birds at bird feeders.

Oh my gosh! They're going to eat the other birds!!!

Remember my lovely little seed covered bird house that I bought last year that has lasted through the wind, cold, snow, rain????

The Grackles have ruined it.
