Nice daffodils, Sheri. I still have a ways to go before I get any blooms, although I do have my first 2 flower buds showing in my earliest blooming patch.

I'm higher though. The elevation here is about 2800 feet above sea level. This is the current status of my earliest blooming daffodil bed. It sits on a south facing slope:
flowers/IMG_6741.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>
Pretty puny yet. My first blooms last year were on March 11, and the peak bloom was on April 2.

I'm 18 miles south of Roanoke, just off Rt. 221. I work in Roanoke. I'm getting ready to head in right now.

One son and his family live in Rocky Mount, south of Roanoke! That's where I was for Christmas and New Years.

I could have met you!!

Diane that is so pretty and the color is pretty, but you're right; it isn't the various shades you described on the phone. But, it's still beautiful!

interesting kenny.

From the upstairs window today.

Spirea

It's bloomed several times because the winter has been so warm that I'm surprised it looks this good.

camellias from the same window. Still hanging in there.

Here's a couple of pics of my tulips...

I think they are so pretty! The only reason they live is because I didn't plant them. I can't grow bulbs, for some reason... why

These are actually from LAST year... blush

They are up and have buds showing now though for this year. I should see blooms in about 2 weeks or so. My Yellow Bells (forsythia) is already blooming, as is my field of daffy-dills (as my 7yo calls them!). My Daphne started blooming about 2 weeks ago, and my poor camellia just doesn't know WHAT to do. It's full of blooms, but I've only had a few open this year. The button in my sig line is one that bloomed for me last year.

I moved away about 2 foot of leaves on top of my white soprano from last year and look what I found!!!!!!!
New Growth with blooms!!!!!!!!
in the background you can see where I had cut back the ones from last year before covering,. It has produced a new growth off the roots??.. the blooms aren't in the best of shape,, I suppose because they were covered with leaves,, But YEAHHHHHHHHH,, We had such a mild winter, it appears they were hardy enough to make it to spring again!

Diane, that pink hyacinth is pretty. I thought the little flowers were tight together and more compact than that. Am I thinking of something else?
