Nice daffodils, Sheri. I still have a ways to go before I get any blooms, although I do have my first 2 flower buds showing in my earliest blooming patch.

I'm higher though. The elevation here is about 2800 feet above sea level. This is the current status of my earliest blooming daffodil bed. It sits on a south facing slope:
flowers/IMG_6741.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>
Pretty puny yet. My first blooms last year were on March 11, and the peak bloom was on April 2.

I'm 18 miles south of Roanoke, just off Rt. 221. I work in Roanoke. I'm getting ready to head in right now.

One son and his family live in Rocky Mount, south of Roanoke! That's where I was for Christmas and New Years.

I could have met you!!

Diane that is so pretty and the color is pretty, but you're right; it isn't the various shades you described on the phone. But, it's still beautiful!

interesting kenny.

From the upstairs window today.

Spirea

It's bloomed several times because the winter has been so warm that I'm surprised it looks this good.

Here's a couple of pics of my tulips...

I think they are so pretty! The only reason they live is because I didn't plant them. I can't grow bulbs, for some reason... why

These are actually from LAST year... blush

They are up and have buds showing now though for this year. I should see blooms in about 2 weeks or so. My Yellow Bells (forsythia) is already blooming, as is my field of daffy-dills (as my 7yo calls them!). My Daphne started blooming about 2 weeks ago, and my poor camellia just doesn't know WHAT to do. It's full of blooms, but I've only had a few open this year. The button in my sig line is one that bloomed for me last year.

I moved away about 2 foot of leaves on top of my white soprano from last year and look what I found!!!!!!!
New Growth with blooms!!!!!!!!
in the background you can see where I had cut back the ones from last year before covering,. It has produced a new growth off the roots??.. the blooms aren't in the best of shape,, I suppose because they were covered with leaves,, But YEAHHHHHHHHH,, We had such a mild winter, it appears they were hardy enough to make it to spring again!

Diane, that pink hyacinth is pretty. I thought the little flowers were tight together and more compact than that. Am I thinking of something else?

See sometimes the flowers that do well in your area this spring, might be the same ones that will do well in our area in the spring.......Sound sensible?

Take like , if your tomatoes are doing good, maybe mine will too.. Just a way of saying it .

Only stuff blooming around my yard are the fruit trees, grass, and the weeds.

Dodge I looked them up from what I could tell the buds are pink and turn white when they open the blooms looks similar to the flowers I posted I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens to the flowers at work.

Beautiful!!!!! thumbup

looks to me it might be crabapple

i'm pretty sure it's in the malvacaceae family: five sepal/petal, numerous stamen that form a cyclinder/tube (connate) around the base where the pistal is 'supposed' to be. a clear hint would be if there are little 'droplets' on the sepal that are fragrant (i think they're called nectaries)

I went to Lowe's today and NOTHING is on sale. The cheapest flower pot is $25.00. I'm going to Lowe's in another part of town and see if it's different.

They didn't have out many plants. Still some pansys and trees.

I'm surprised your crocus haven't come up yet Diane. They're usually one of the first around here.

My daffodils that looked pitiful after the cold and snow this week perked back up with the warm today.

Diane, that flower is beautiful. I'm amazed at all you have blooming.

dodge, I didn't know until yesterday that Johnny has stopped buying plumbing supplies at the Lowe's in Monroe because it's more expensive than the other one he goes to in Charlotte. I'm beginning to think they realize that they're the only place in town to shop and they're taking advantage of it.

Johnny must be a clever man......

That kills one to find it out tho.

Our walmart is cheaper than Lowes if they have the same stuff.
Home Depot is right across from Lowes and they have a price war also.

Why they built there is beyond me.

Well we had Lowes first......

H.D. built there couple years later, and no one wanted to go to it.
Now it seems to be sinking.......

Too many of the same stores in the area.

I sort of sit in the center of shopping malls and stores.. 2 mile away is closest store, 4 mile mall up north 11 mile to mall south......I do the south one most............It is nicer.
