Yes i did take the photo years ago.

I think the lady sent me the Plant from texas.
Cause I didnt know how to do seeds at that time.. She taught me how to do seeds, her and Arkansas lady.

It was taken with my older cameras, not canon.

However I use my canon to take a photo of the photoo>lol
It is in my plant room..With my tag posters.

My Lowe's does not have them and don't generally care them. Interesting I thought. Maybe they don't do well in my area.

First time I've had a look at this thread. I love your blue flowers, angelblossom. Is the pericallis a kind of daisy? (Please forgive my ignorance). My daughters have a little garden bed, and one of the plants still has some blue flowers; I might get some photos and post them here.

I didn't find any Texas Blue Bonnet plants anywhere. The places here say they haven't ever carried the actual plant.

Here is a little plant in my Daughters' garden bed called 'Forest Blue'

[Linked Image]

Another shot with more background. The vine behind grows purple trumpet-shaped flowers. The little plant to the right of it grows purple flowers late winter until summer.

[Linked Image]

And I'm cheating here by throwing in a yellow one. I took this in Perth last month while visiting my parents. Please don't ask me what it is, because I have no clue!

Thanks, dodge. I put that little section in the garden for our girls, to get them interested in gardening. The Forest Blue is apparently a native of China. There are a few other plants in there and other beds that belong to the girls. Our 5-year-old in particular often asks for a plant if we are at the nursery or hardware store. Of course, I get to do most of the maintenance!

You may be right about the identity of the golden tree. Perth has very sandy soil- is your soil well-drained? It could be these trees love well-drained soil. I noticed that with frangipanis; there are many growing in Perth, but not many here, as we have clay. My frangipani is in a large pot, so it can be well-drained and be brought inside in winter.

Stevie - that blue flower looks so familiar to me - could it be in the plumbago family?

And I think Dodge is probably right about the yellow flowering tree being a golden chain tree. I think we had a thread about that a couple of summers ago, because I remember seeing one at a nursery in Connecticut shortly afterwards, when we went to visit my cousin up there.

Plants 'n pots & dodge- the latin name for the Forest Blue plant is Ceratostigma Willmottianum if that's any help (it's no help to me). I don't know much about plumbagos- arent they those things you drive around in when you retire? This is a fairly new bush in our garden; just had its first summer, and nearly finished flowering. Once it finishes, I will prune it a bit, and expect big things next summer!

I'm impressed that you picked it! My plant knowledge is very limited. I just buy things I like and plant them!

About male humour, it becomes more corny once we have kids, or so I'm told by my younger work colleagues. Whenever I tell some kind of joke, they tell me that's a 'Dad' joke!

You are so lucky. I should have been a farmer. But then, it hasn't rained for 11 years, so it may have been a bad career move.

I was cleaning up some flower beds today - much earlier in the year than ever before, but it was in the 50's and not raining as they said it would be - and I uncovered some scilla in bloom under all the leaves - I always love the sweet blue of these tiny plants, and they are very welcome as a first flower of the year.

[Linked Image]

Most of these have not opened yet, but they are still a very welcomed sight!
