I'D be distracted with a dip such as that also, Cricket! Wow, that sounds so-o-o good! I've not heard of that before.

Sleeping to lose weight sounds like a good Diet Plan to me! lol

I should make some coffee and wake myself up. It's time to think about dinner and I am out of ideas.

I am home. I got a lot done today. And now I am snacking on cottage cheese and ritz crackers before I lay me down for a nap.
Reading or sleeping my spare pounds away would be quite nice. Let me know how that turns out, hmmm?

I decided I was thinking about dinner because it is "dinner time" and not because it is "hungry time". So now I am waiting until I am actually hungry before deciding what to make.

Eating when not hungry isn't a good thing.

Dinner is taking me forever to finish. I decided on a salad which always takes a long time to eat. Plus, I am reading. So a bite and a page and then another bite or two and another page or so. If I keep going I will finish the book before I finish the salad! But if I'm too slow about it, I'll lose interest in the salad and just finish the book!

I'm a nut.

I really hate it when Maxi isn't here.

Yes, Jiffy, we have a happy home together. He is secure here. And, having him here keeps me focussed away from my silly troubles.

I hope you get some rest tonight and feel better tomorrow.

Is anyone home in the CH?

I am in and out.
I have been lost in medical info sites looking up stuff for a friend. The more you read the scarier everything gets. Sometimes it feels as though ignorance is bliss. But not really. I'd rather know.

Good morning.

I had planned to sleep in today by 2 hours because I had a rough night. But between the phone ringing and my girl making big noises, I got up. Oh well. I will nap during dialysis later today. But my bed was so COZY I really wanted to stay there AND stay asleep!

Just beginning my second cup. I am driving both kids to school. How spoiled are we? Actually Jonni is driving us all to her school and I am taking over from there. She needs the practice and I can rest on the way. Then I take John into the hospital for his regular Wednesday thing. After that, I am not sure.

Morning,
It's my day off but I have Nicoli for awhile this morning... he is watching Spiderman 3... his favorite movie right now.... he can quote dialogue....
Carrie took the other boys to school and then is having coffee with a couple friends... they were bridesmaids at her wedding and the one lives in Washington now so they don't see each other very often....
I have to get my tax stuff together today, been putting it off for other stuff and now I have to do it... will get to it when Carrie picks up Nicoli... the Joe can take it to tax guy tomorrow... nothing like waiting till the last few weeks...
We are cold today- 30*with a feel temp of 23*... supposed to snow tonight too and tomorrow... sure hope it doesn't stay to long but does gives us the moisure we need so badly.

I am taking our tax stuff to our tax lady on Friday afternoon. We had to wait on some info coming in before doing it. Got it all together now. Our state handed out IOU's instead of refunds this year. I don't know if they have corrected that yet or not.
I am back from my morning running and I am eating. Then I get to start my late morning/early afternoon running. I will nap today. I could nap now but would sleep through picking up my son from school. That has never happened and I would hate to break a perfect record.

I took a nap last night before bed. I was reading and fell asleep, I think around 7:30, for about an hour (Johnny woke me up), then I couldn't go to sleep at bed time. I think I feel better though than if I had stayed awake and gone to sleep at my normal time. You're right. Naps are wonderful!!!!

Good morning. I am going to work today. I had to reschedule my tax lady appointment tomorrow because I have to take John in to the hospital again for a platelet transfusion. Taxes will be next week when the kids are off for spring break and my daughter will be here to take care of Ted. Life gets interesting sometimes.

we haven't done our taxes either. We usually have to pay so we wait until the last minute.

The 2nd grade has gone on a field trip so I've had an easy morning. 2 of those teachers send student after student to the health room. I think one of them thinks it will make her seem caring but the principal sees it more like she can't take care of her class and their missing important material. They'll be back at lunch and then they'll be in here until the bell rings. Oh well. Job security I guess.

Morning.
Schools are closed here cause now they say we will get 2 ft of snow and they don't want kids stuck at schools... kids are happy... it is coming down really good right now...our tax man will have to wait another day or two too... not driving in this just for that... supposed to be nice after this weekend...

Carrie wil still have to go to work , so we will have the boys later.... Joe may take Carrie to work and Jon pick her up ... it's going to be really bad if they don't plow a lot.

Well off to take my shower and get started on something or another.....

Gosh. It's cold here but it's amazing that you're getting that much snow at the end of March.

Where does Carrie work that she'll have to go in when it's snowing so much?

Carrie works at a grocery store-, they won't close unless the director says so- she is crazy so they will stay open.... March is our usually snowiest month.... we have gotten 3 ft overnight at times... right now it is blowing and coming down really hard,,, can't see across the street at times...
it is 27* right now here...
Jon is coming home from work now = before they shut the trains down... so he will take Carrie and keep the boys... sure glad we all have 4 wheel drives now-- my son called and they sent them home too- he lives up North from us and they are getting it harder than us- have 7 inches in last 6 hours,,, wind is gusting at 40mph too.... sure glad we have a fireplace ... will cook on it if we lose power..... have lots of wood in garage too... so we are good to go - lots of food too... weatherguy just said heavies snow will be west of Denver--- right where we are.....

My daughter loves when the power goes out and we cook on the wood stoves. My son is not so thrilled. Take care in your nasty weather, Nana.
I worked my tail off again today. That is OK because I will certainly eat enough to put it back on later. But first now that I am home for the day will be a nap.

We are nice and warm here- temp is down to 18* but doesn't feel cold in house... snow has lightened up some so maybe we won't get as much as they said but a lot of time left for it to fall again... roads are a mess- they told employers to let people go home in shifts so the roads stay as clear as possible- plows are stuck in traffic ... crazy....you would think people would slow down and be careful but they try to drive fast and run off the roads...

so Nana, when the power goes out you can heat with the wood stove? Does that farm the entire house? Do you have a generator?

Hi Sheri, No generator but we have a wood stove insert in the fireplace with a fan to blow the heat out- that part woudn't work if elec was out but heat goes thruout the house anyway- and we can stick a grate on top of wood and heat stuff in iron skillets or pots... when ever there is a storm I heat a water too and put it in thermoses to make soup too , we keep gal of water and we fill the bathtub with water too for flushing and dishwashing ... never had to use it - we haven't lost power for more than a couple hours for a long time but you never know- (knocking on wood now) I keep lots of canned food too ...

Hi everyone ~

I saw my back specialist this morning and now my butt is too sore to sit in my chair for long. Those shots can be irksome the first day.

Then I went to the grocery store and finally remembered to buy the box of Blush wine I've been wanting this past year. It is YUMMY! I got groceries because Maxi will be home tomorrow night and for some reason, my kid expects to eat every day. I say "Didn't you eat last month?" lol

I bought the fixings for chowder so we can have that tomorrow night. They had nice filets of Haddock on sale. In fact, just about everything I bought was on a special sale & my girl wanted to know how I ran into so many cool sales in one day?!

I bought a whole chicken to roast for Sunday and pork chops for Saturday. Plus food for lunches and things to snack on.

It took us FOREVER to comparison shop for sharp cheese, though. Several different prices... by as much as $2 but also several different sizes! So I ended up getting the 10 oz sharp for $1.70 LESS than the 8 oz sharp!

I even treated Maxi to a bag of peanuts in the shell. He loves those things but makes SUCH a mess with the shells! I give him a bag. I give him a bowl. Even so, he gets distracted and carries them around with him & we find shells all over the house! lol My little squirrel.

Peanuts and sunflower seeds in the shell are just messy, even when you try hard to be tidy about it.
I got lost looking at the weather in different areas starting in Colorado where Nana is and moving on through the central part of the country. Nasty stuff happening out there. Only windy here, sunny and mid to high 70's.
Your menu sounds heavenly, Merme. I'm getting hungry.
