They are predicting snow for us as well, but I didn't hear when exactly it is coming.

I always liked pistaschio's in the shell. I'd eat them on my long walks, leaving my fingers red and a trail of shells behind me....

I have to make my dinner and do a manicure tonight before it gets too late to dry well before bedtime. But I do not feel like doing anything!

I be a lazy she tonight!

Nana, my power goes out all the time. I be worried sick if it snowed a lot here.

Johnny buys bags of boiled peanuts and gets shells everywhere. I say put them back in the bag and he says he tries. It's just messy.

Blush wine. I'll have to try that. Remember a while back I bought that 20.00 bottle of red wine and drank 1/4 cup for my stomach. The rest is still in the frig. Maybe I'll go take a swig. Some of the cork broke off in it though so maybe not. My friend Silvia drinks a little rum when she has trouble sleeping. She keeps a bottle by her bed.

After watching Dr. Oz on Ophra the other night I'm going to start eating more fish. I saw a chef on TV yesterday who says he cooks fish all the time but does it outside so his house won't smell like fish. He takes a frying pan outside and plugs it in or cooks it on the grill. I've only had chowder once Merme amd I think it was clam.

We used to lose power a lot but they did something to fix it a couple yrs ago and now it stays on even when the weather is pretty bad... Sheri you could strain your wine thru a coffee filter into a glass- use a rubber band to hold it on the cup and pour slowly-...... no cork for you that way,
Merme your shopping trip and menu worked out really well sounds like-- we are on spring break next week here so I will have to stock up on kid stuff too...
It's been a really quiet day here... Joe did shovel the driveway and sidewalk- lots of work it is wet snow out there... already covered again now... expect it to snow more after dark too.... but we sure needed it so tryng to ignore the achiness the cold and weather change is giving me.... the weather cross country is really bad.. little of everything out there... they say we are going to have another storm on Mon too.
Well need to go fix Mom some supper- thinking some potato soup - she will eat that usually - especially when she is cold.

Howdy all.

Just got through with fixing a b-day supper for my son. he is SO easy to please. he wanted bacon, eggs, and toast. after the bacon was done and before I started on the eggs he says all he wanted was bacon and regular bread. I was super tired from work so I said OK! boy, did I get off easy! oh, and get this.... for his 'b-day cake' for saturday, he says he doesn't want cake but those pre-made, pre-wrapped individual cheese cake thingy's.

I was at a friends house the other day and she had a couple of wine glasses on the table with what looked like coffee filters and rubber bands around the top. I asked what she was filtering then we got to talking about something else. I wonder if she had a cork in her wine as well?????

Sheri we make fish chowder all the time. It is made of any pale colored fish... haddock is a good choice. So the fish, potatoes, onion, butter, and cream. Et voila! Chowder!

I like Blush wine in the warmer weather. It is somewhere between dry and sweet wine and suits me, especially when it put it over ice which makes Wine Purists angry! lol

When I was at the store today I picked up a small amount of marinated black and green olives w/ feta cheese cubes. It is pretty good. I may make a salad for my dinner and toss some of it in. It would go good with everything else I have for a salad tonight.

I hate losing power. I do not mind the lack of light for that is easily resolved. I DO mind the lack of heat and I always worry about Maxi's parakeets. The next place we live I want to have another source for heat that wouldn't be dependant upon outside power.

Cricket you did get off easy with the birthday dinner! Aren't kids amazing sometimes?

Nana I'm glad you got your taxes done.

It's midnight here, so I'm shutting down the house for the night and making a last cup of Red rose tea.

Safe away home, O my palies, and sweet dreams to you all.

it's dreary and rainy here today but thankfully no snow. We've already got to make up 2 snow days. I don't want to cut into my vacation too much.

Merme, is milk or cream the base for your fish soup? I've had oyster stew before. I don't eat the osyters but the milk broth of it is ok with lots of crackers.

Cricket, what are you reading? I finished my library book last night. It's Digging to America or my book club. It's ok but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Good morning. Going to be sunny when the sun actually rises. Bur very windy with 60mph gusts. Driving can be such fun in the wind. And I have some driving to do.
First cup but going for the second right now.

Sheri, it's called The Husband, by Dean Koontz. the guy is in his 20's and is a gardener. he gets a call that says they have his wife and he can get her back for 2 million. Of course, he doesn't even have 20 thousand. they give him 40 hours, I believe. I won't give away anymore than that. I'll just say it is one of the best suspense books I've read. so many twists and turns - no way to even imagine what will happen next!

a book club would be interesting. but, like youre saying about the book you are reading now, I'm sure not all books would apeal to everyone every time. you'd end up reading lots of things your not really interested in. If I don't get hooked on a book in the first chapter I put it down.

When I worked at the Health Department we had either 1 or 2 doctors in the Women's Health (paps and the like) Clinic, never more than 2 and there were 88 appointment slots on the schedule. 8:00, 8:01, 8:02 and so on. No kidding. That's 44 people per doctor each day. Tell me how that's possible.
