THE BABY ARRIVED SAFE & SOUND TODAY!


My cousins baby arrived this morning. A little girl, 7 lbs, 9 oz, 21 inches long. Her name is Ainsley. Her 3 year old brother declared her "beautiful!" and said he has plans to take good care of her when she comes home!

and, when it rains it pours, if you all would pray for my mother in law to have strength dealing with my brother in law who needs prayers for maturity. she has her hands more full than i ever had.

thank you all. i just got an update on my uncle, he is in surgery right now with an aortic aneurysm and if he makes it, will be critical/touch and go for at least 3 days. please pray for what is right for him and strength for his kids and wife during this trying time.

My Aunt Peggy passed away this week. She was 86 and it wasn't unexpected. But please say a prayer for her family. She has 8 surviving children remaining, 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. They need peace and strength during such a trying time.

I'm sorry to hit y'all with a second request in one day, but I think this is pretty important....

My EX's girlfriend Christine is having surgery on her lower lip tomorrow (Monday) morning. About 6 months ago she injured her lip when the baby rammed back and knocked her in the mouth with his head. It has never healed but has gotten worse looking. Several days ago she bumped it again and couldn't get it to stop bleeding so she went to the ER after a couple of hours.

She was told that this was a quite serious injury although a relatively small one. Apparently, at the time of the bump from the baby's head, her teeth shoved the artery in that area out of the wound which is why it was bleeding so profusely. So they want to do vascular surgery to get it back in where it belongs and then some plastics work to repair the lip.

I didn't know we had an artery in that area of the face although I knew we had nerves there.

She is quite frightened, of course, and has the children to juggle so her parents are going to help out.

Christine will get Maxi & DJ off to school. Then her dad will take my EX and the baby to the baby's therapy school. Her mom will take Christine to the hospital and drop her off and then go to work. Then her dad will scoot over to the hospital to be with her. It is going to be hectic! Everybody should be getting home about the same time in the afternoon & they've promised to call me when I get in from dialysis around 5.

Christine's surgery yesterday was quite successful. She was in the OR itself for 1 1/2 hours... and only in the hospital for a total of five hours. She said they treated her very well and she was also comforted by the fact that she was in a smaller facility which was more peaceful than the major medical center nearby. This smaller hospital has a Top Notch Vascular division and I was glad she went there.

They repaired the lip and she said she has stitches both inside the mouth and outside. She's in some significant pain but she said the worst of it is the swelling, so she is doing ice packs while taking the pain medication on schedule.

The children are cooperating and she is able to rest.

Tonight the bigger boys are walking down to a little deli nearby and will have their dinner there. They feel like Big Deals whenever they are allowed to walk down there. It is a good time for them to go, while the baby is sleeping and she can stay on the couch!

Merme so glad to hear that all went well with Christine and that everything has been working out so well so she can get her rest at home. You all must be so proud of the 2 older boys and their wonderful behavior.
