Stevie_g; So sorry to hear that you have been (down) under the weather!! (BAD pun right). Anyway hope that your are feeling better soon. But since it is now Fall working towards winter where you live are the flowers still blooming or are they fading back and fall stuff coming around there?

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

Hi Memosa, thanks, I am feeling on top of the world now! So far we still have a lot of blooms, but it is definitely cooler now, and I like that. I call it red wine weather. Also better for sleeping. We have 2 claret ash trees in our front yard, and one is dropping its leaves, while the other hasn't started yet. They do the same each year; one early, the other late- I guess they are married!

I will put in some pictures of some of my favourite flowers. Here is our Camp David rose. It has gorgeous big soft fragrant blossoms, that are dark red and sometimes have splashes of almost black.

I love this Double Delight. The scent has a touch of citrus. Probably my favourite rose of all.

And here is a white geranium that my mother in law gave me. She and I always talk gardening. I love it!

jeepers, that white geranium is gorgeous.

Darbi, my grand daughter gave me this flower pot with a tulip 3 years ago. It blooms every year.

we used to have a pretty good sized dogwood tree in this location right outside my upstairs bedroom window. We electrocuted it a few times with Christmas lights then Johnny backed into it, in my car mind you, and knocked it completely down. We had a hard time finding one to plant. For some reason it's not easy to find dogwoods for sale around here and then there was the drought. We planted this 3 years ago when it was tiny. We drilled holes in a bucket and put beside it to keep it watered and now we have 1 bloom.

I am sorry to hear about the decline of your previous dogwood, Sheri. But I laughed at your description. That is a pretty clean single bloom. Dogwoods don't do well in our heat here. Do the blooms have a scent?

Your little dogwood looks very healthy Sheri. I hope it provides you with many more blooms to come in future years.

This was my first spring bulb patch to bloom other than my scillas so far. Gotta love my daffydills! These are down by the shed, and not quite open yet on Sunday when I first went out early afternoon, but I was so glad to see they were about to bloom.

By late afternoon they were in full beautiful bloom!

dogwoods don't have a scent.

There's nothing quite as springy as a yellow daffodil. They cheer everyone.

Thanks angelblossom, Shirley, loz and Sheri!

Loz, looks like you had great weather for an Easter egg hunt. What are those trees you photographed? The white one looks a bit like our nectarine, but on a bigger scale. Did they have a strong perfume?

Hope Bubba is keeping well, and hope your fish survived the big freeze!

Sheri, I love that tulip! We just bought some tulip bulbs for the first time this year. They are sitting in the fridge, ready to be planted in May. Should be exciting, because I've always wanted to have tulips, but never quite knew what to do with them.

Plants 'n pots, your daffodils look great in the evening light. They are such a cheerful flower. Do you have a daffodil day over there? Here, it is in August, to raise money for cancer research and support.

Stevie - I don't know if we have a certain day for daffodils, but I do know that a few years ago some organizations sold bunches of them very inexpensively to raise money for cancer research. Also, when I was in college some kids were selling them to raise money for cancer as well - that was "many moons ago!", but I still relate daffodils to cancer research. It's one of my all time favorite flowers!

Thanks Diane and Sheri - the rest of my daffodils in other areas aren't growing as well for some reason, but I have a lot of tulips about to bud up - can't wait to see those colors!

We just had Daffodil Days here....I don't think there is one specific day for it but I could very well be wrong. About 2 weeks ago they delivered our daffodils and the money went to the American Cancer Society. Always a good cause so we support it every year.

Plantqueen, sounds like daffodil days are pretty widespread, then. Plants 'n pots, I hope you will post some photos of your tulips when they bloom. Tulips are one of my favourites; must be the Dutch in me!

They are beautiful, angelblossom. Do your yellow roses have a strong perfume? What variety are they?

I just LOVE the yellow rose.

But I also LOVE the blue bonnets - they are sooooooo cool!
Wish I could grow them there - they remind me of the lupine that grew all over Alaska - so pretty!
