I received a new sample of Lynn's beadwork today. Angelblossom told her that I am an avid reader so Lynn sent me a bookmark in memory of my daughter Jolene. The beads on it are the same color as Jolene's peridot birthstone. Lynn was very kind to include the angel and research the right bead color. Unfortunately, the picture doesn't show the colors very well but she did a great job. Thanks Lynn!!

Glenda ~ you are very welcome. It was just a token of my thoughts and feelings for you all. My daughter's birthstone is the same one, so I feel a little kinship with you there also.

I have to agree with everyone here. Your work is just lovely and the book mark is just sooooo heart warming. I tried doing some jewelery work but I am just not coordinated some how enough that mine looks good and I haven't enough patience for it. But as I said your work is very beautiful. I am sure that you get much joy from it and I know that all who wear your work or use it in other ways (the book mark) get very much pleasure and joy from it also. Keep it up!

Thanks for asking, Diane, but I haven't been able to do any beading or knitting for a couple of months now, since I got terrible tendonitis in both arms from overdoing it making holiday gifts.
I let you know just as soon as I've made any new projects.

Very, very nice. I really never tried to do jewelery untill one time at a sidewalk sale I got a grabbag I am addicted to them...it had beads and the thread or whatever it is called the crimp beads spacers. Well let's just say when I was done I took it apart and put it away and found my baby sis was into beading and I gave it to her...even though it was probably about 15 years old.. I can do plastic canvas and paint a bit. Janet

Well I have a new hobby sorta. When I was a kid, we made "fried marbles". We took regular marbles and fried them in a dry pan, and then plunged them into ice water which made the marbles crackle from the inside, while not cracking the outside. I was reminded of that last week when I saw some earring findings at Michael's and I just knew I had to make some "fried marbles" to put in those earrings. I haven't done that yet, but have made crackled marbles to use. I did an extensive google search on fried marbles and found out that nowadays people are baking them instead of frying - that works for me, so I don't have to stand there stirring them for 20 minutes! This is the first thing I've made with them - I bought the silver colored pendant at Michael's and superglued the marble. My hand therapist liked it so much today, that I made her the same thing tonight and will give it to her on Monday.

That is beautiful, Lynne. I was not allowed to fry marbles as a kid. My mother had heard too many scare stories of exploding marbles and kids eyes or something. I wonder if I would feel guilty if I made some now?

Oh Lordy yes, I remember my Mother and I frying marbles left and right. She enjoyed it as much as I did or even more. And Lynns' jewelery is so pretty. I really do envy her ability and patience in that department. My old eyes and patience won't allow me to do that kind of lovely work.

Thanks everyone!
Memosa - I think I'm going through a second childhood these days, or I never grew out of my first one?!?
And I don't think your eyes are any older than mine - I just forged ahead when I get an idea - they don't always work out though. And... as a sign of my old age, my arms quit on me a few months ago when I was doing too much knitting and beading, and I got severe tendonitis in both. I am not supposed to knit until after summer according to my physical therapist and that will be very hard for me. I do beading once in a while now - if I want to make something to go with a certain outfit, or a gift for a friend.
By the way... we actually had another thread about fried marbles a few years ago in the old forums - Weezie and Jillie were in on that one at the time.
The really odd thing is that I cannot find marbles in any toy or craft store. I have been to almost every one, and every toy department in stores like WalMart, Target, etc - NONE of them sell marbles!!! I don't get it! I found 1 bag in a dollar store - it was the only bag where the marbles were round, and didn't have that multi-colored sheen that they put on all marbles nowadays that one puts in vases.
