Good morning, everybody! Diane had a great idea, Ditchy! Read a chapter, post on the forum, read another chapter, go out and dig in the dirt, read a chapter, post on the forum.... The sun comes streaming through my bedroom windows first thing in the morning, waking me up, even though the blinds are closed and the lace curtains pulled. The room gets warmer and I wake up, kick off the covers, roll over and try to go back to sleep. Mostly I get up! I love being woken by sunlight....it feels so luxurious. We are spring cleaning my living room today and oh man it really needs it! Merme

Well the slipcovers to the couch and chair are in the dryer. YAY! They look so grubby before I do them but perk right back up all nice in the wash. The entire living room as been spring cleaned -- even the boxes under my desk! -- and all the winter gear has been put away til next fall. The bookcases were emptied, scrubbed down, and re-organized. I got rid of alot of stuff that has just accumulated for whoknowswhy. All that is left is my desk. But I am going to take a break and have a cup of Red rose tea and hopefully will feel better soon. Nana your weather must be better now if Joe is planning on doing yard work today? Get a photo of your nails for us, please! Merme

Merme, I don't do anything really special to my nails- just a french manicure... and fairly short cause I have enough trouble with my hands...and opening things without long nails in the way too..I may get color for the week we are on vacation... shouldn't have to do dishes or laundry then.... hopfully... Mom is finally eating- she tried to tell me she wasn't hungry but told her she had to eat.... now she is eating it all.. still haven't made it to the shower but soon... Well now I will try again to get my day started. Nana

I just got a call from our priest. He is bringing my Easter Communion over today at 3 since we couldn't get to church on Sunday. I'm glad the place is all spanking clean! The next big job will be the bird cage but I will wait until Maxi is here for that! They are his birdies and he has to be responsible for them. Merme

Hello everyone! Today I'm planning on going out and doing some house plant shopping. I've let a few of mine go, some of which I'm upset with myself over but, it happens. Hopefully I'll be able to find some nice hanging plants for fairly cheap along with some lucky bamboo. Gonna get rid of all the dead stuff and make my house look pretty and green again instead of depressing and brown and dying. Tomorrow will be my outside day since it's supposed to be dry. My garden has been even more neglected than my house plants, I still have stalks of dead flowers from last summer to clean up. I found some gardenig gloves yesterday that actually fit me. I had to dig through the whole bin of gloves to find one pair of smalls. Not the color I was hoping for but I suppose it doesn't really matter. They are a pretty royal blue but I was really hoping to get the pink ones because then they would match my tools I made it through yesterday only breaking down and smoking one cigarette for the entire day. I keep dreaming about it though. Today I feel better than yesterday, not so much withdrawl going on so far. That's about it with me, hope you all have a wonderful day!

Maxi has decided to put in a vegetable container garden on his dad's balconey this year. Last year he potted up a green pepper for them and taught them how to care for it and they loved having it and all the peppers it produced. So they are interested in what he will plant for them this year. That's Maxi for ya, spreading the joy around. I'm with you, Cheryl, I like things to match also! Merme

hello, everyone! good grief, a new coffee house has already been opened. I guess I have some reading back to do. I mowed a little after work today. Probably a 40 ft X 40 ft patch with a push mower. I wanted to mow more but had some major snot issues! I didn't want to push it too much since I just got over bad ear infections due to allergies.

[quote=Merme]refresh my memory. What happened Sunday to keep you from church? I couldn't get a ride. The taxi to the cathedral where we went for Maundy Thursday & Good Friday would have been $55 one way. To the other church that is more local, it would have been $20 one way. And they complain about putting my wheelchair in the trunk! So it was way out of my budget. Next year, though, we WILL be there!! That's one reason we are moving to town... to be closer to church & where Maxi will be going to high school. Merme

today was my first day back to work since last Wednesday. it felt SO good to get out today. I had ear infections in both ears last week. I went to the doc on thursday. boss said for me to take off on friday too. yesterday was a major lack of communication between me and the boss so I was't able to work on monday either.

How are your kiddos?

Oh man! I am back to my old self now. antibiotics are my friend! he said I had an outer ear infection, which I thought he was a crazy old quack cause how could I have so much pain from something so minor as an 'outer' anything? but he told me outer ear infections are more painful than inner ear ones most of the time. kiddos are good. my son, 12 yrs old, has a major case of head in the clouds. he is bright as a whip, but has not been turning in work. sometimes he even DOES the work but just doesn't turn it in, looses it, ect. one teacher has been on his case for showing up with no pencil all the time. I bought him a whole pack of mechanical pencils so not only would he have pencils but wouldn't need to borrow the sharpener. HE LOST THE WHOLE PACK!

It's freezing in here. I need to figure out how to turn the heat back on. I had my girl shut it off this morning because it was so warm outside. Then I opened the door and let the fresh air in. Trouble is, I can't reach the thermostat! 'hm.... I'm thinking maybe the yardstick will do if I can get it at the correct angle to push the little switch to the right....
It's too cold not to do anything!

Cricket that is THE HALLMARK of that age group! Poor you! I don't envy you that. It drove me batty when Maxi went through that last year and was totally oblivious to it all! "How can you not turn in homework you completed?!" Oh, I forgot! Merme

I keep telling him to pull his head out of his dou-pa for just another month! he's failing two classes and each teacher is allowing him to go to tutoring before school and/or after school to make up work he hasn't turned in. sometimes he 'forgets' to go to tutoring! I hope his phase passes like your maxi's did! he's always been an A and B student. this year he runs a big chance of not even passing. did the yard stick do the trick...not on the boy, but on the thermastat?

Nice to see you Merme. I had visions of you stuck behind your sofa all night. My daughter also cooked up eggs and toast this morning so my house smells wonderfully breakfast-y.

Good afternoon! I'm planning on getting outside today but I'm having trouble getting my lazy rear out of bed. Maybe more coffee is in order. My computer battery is almost dead so I'll have to get out of this bed to go plug it in soon anyway. I think I'll do a yoga routine before heading outside. That should help with the inevitable soreness that will show up tomorrow. Got to take a picture of a mystery plant as well before I decide what to do with it.

It was such a beautiful beautiful breezy day here on the coast I so did NOT want to go in the building for dialysis! Coming back out afterwards felt like entering heaven, I would think. The air was so sweet and fresh. On the way TO dialysis, my driver used the wrong entrance to the turnpike and headed North instead of South! So we had to go quite a distance to the next exit to get turned around. He was apologetic. I chuckled and said "Well, at least you didn't take me to Bangor for I didn't bring a lunch!" He replied, laughing also "If I took you all the way to Bangor, I would owe you a lunch! It would be my treat!" Coming into the apt though I noticed that it really needs a thorough airing out. The place has been shut up too tightly all the winter long. I have a bunch of paperwork to do tonight and I am also going to try to laze around a bit. Tomorrow is very busy for me & I will be picking up Maxi. He has a half day tomorrow & begins spring Break! I can't wait! Merme

But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I hope Maxi's spring break is an awesome time for both of you, Merme. I left John at the hospital for a refill. So I am going to grab a nap until he calls for his ride home.
