I'm new to pc type computers and I have an HP Mini. It's been pretty good but lately it's been having a delayed reaction problem. When I go to click on the start menu I don't get the little finger pointer thing and I for about 5-10 seconds I think my computer froze. Same thing when closing windows, I think the computer froze halfway through closing the window and then it will close. Is there something I should be doing to keep my computer running as well as it's used to? It's only about a month old. Thanks.

Sounds like the resources are being maxed on the system, and it's taking a couple seconds for things to respond...
right click in the empty area of the task bar and choose task manager, click processes, then click "cpu" and tell me the things over say 15%...
You will also want to do the same for the "memory" option...

System idol process is the only one over 15%. Everything is zero except explorer, which goes between 00-02 along with taskmgr and svchost (no idea what that is). The system idol process moves between 98-99. The memory option, is that in the task managaer as mem usage? Not sure what you're referring to exactly. Thanks for your help.

Well, system idle process is fine, it's supposed to be high :P
Task manager is the tool you're using to view the resources, and svchost is a windows process.
Well, in the tool it has several options that list what resources are in use where, it'll list name, memory, cpu, etc; click on the name and it'll sort by that type...
