These are some calendula that I am growing for the first time this year. They are so nice and bright and so far... knocking on wood... the animals have left them alone! I keep going back to the small nursery to get more of these!
Another garden with calendula and 1 lantana plant. The calendulas are all orange - I don't know why the bottom 2 look yellow!
Lynne: Beautiful as usual. The calendula are georgeous. I was wondering just how much grass is actually left in your yard?? You are always showing us some new beautiful flower. I am envious.

I didn't even Know there was a difference maybe because I'd never heard of ditch lily. Looking it it closer the leaves and reddish stem for the leaves are different,, yes??? What else makes the difference between the two>> BTW Pretty picture.

There is no real difference except they tend to go wild in drainage ditches where there is sufficient supply of water. And most revert to original orange.

the stem isn't actually red. that is a wild grape vine that has taken over that corner of my driveway. it grows up everything that will be still.
and, tina is right, they are called ditch lilies because they grow so well in drainage ditches. lots of folks will use them for soil stabilization by their culverts.

Ok,, thanks
