We don't have much in flower here now, as it's nearly winter. These are nowhere near as good as yours, but here goes anyway. I had to risk my life to get this shot of our flowering gum. I was standing nearly at the top of the ladder in the dark. Red geranium.. Yucca... Eternity

Standing on a ladder in the dark Risk taker you are The Gum flower is very interesting,, Since you had to get on a ladder it must get very big! It can probably grow much bigger, but I will try and keep it pruned so it doesn't get away from me. Fortunately it is a slow grower. I like the way a yucca shows up so shiny. It wasn't wet. Will have some more fun photographing plants in the dark! Looking forward to seeing Merme's photos (and maybe Maxi's as well!). Eternity

The wind is blowing so hard the flowers are all blowing to the side. I never noticed the shadow but it is pretty neat! The pic of the bleeding hearts didn't turn out the best but I love them. I wish they bloomed longer!

It is getting a little warmer here. Even though this morning we had frost so I had to cover everything last night. We haven't had frost in a few weeks and hopefully this is the last of it. We usually don't have frost quite this late. Summer is on its way though. Supposed to be in the 70s this week and I am really looking forward to it! Hopefully I have more blooms to share soon. My lilacs are blooming and crabapple trees are just about in full bloom. I will take pics soon!!

We've had our first couple of frosts, and the garden is starting to get that untidy look it gets every autumn (it doesn't help that every weekend seems to be taken up with something I have to do- I just want to get out in the garden!) It's interesting, I noticed that one of our roses has little scent during the day, but sometimes just when evening comes, the scent becomes stronger. It appears that the rose is targeting some pollinating insect that is around just at that time. Pretty clever, huh? In the Dennis the Menace story as I remember it (it's a long time ago now), Mr Wilson had a flower that blooms for just a few seconds or something, once in a lifetime. The Wilsons had some friends around to watch the flower bloom. It was just about to come out, when Dennis got up to some mischief, and that was enough to distract everyone from the blooming plant! Very funny! Eternity

These are some calendula that I am growing for the first time this year. They are so nice and bright and so far... knocking on wood... the animals have left them alone! I keep going back to the small nursery to get more of these! Another garden with calendula and 1 lantana plant. The calendulas are all orange - I don't know why the bottom 2 look yellow!

There is no real difference except they tend to go wild in drainage ditches where there is sufficient supply of water. And most revert to original orange. ~Tina Drama Free Zone.
