Is this Mexican patunia,, I had this in my yard last year and I pulled it because it got too big and tall and became invasive and the tiny seeds blew everywhere,, boohoo
this picture belongs to our new Member NoThumb,, She isn't sure it's a mexican patunia,, I told her I'd post it for her to get others opinion

Yes, it's Mexican Petunia or Ruellia...very invasive...spreads by underground runners, but very pretty. There is also a pink variety ('Chi Chi' I think is the name) that isn't as tall.
