I planted seeds But I don't remember what it was,,,,,, the name on the tag I wrote has since faded and I can't make it out,, it started growing in the fall I covered with leaves during the cold,, and uncovered to find it had grown nicely over the winter, The leaves look familiar I just can't think of it!

At first I thought it might be large flowered coreopsis, but I went and looked at mine and it doesn't quite look the same. It looks very familiar, though....

well, Diane, take good care of it, and time will tell us what it is  BTW:--surely I sent you a book to keep track of such things in???-- ***ya draw the partcular area, attach numbers or letter to circles in the corresponding area and then write down the name of said plant below the drawing next to the number/letter in the proper place on the circle---and THEN I keep all plant steaks in the house in a bag & marker the year on their backs-- am I gonna have to come down there & take care of you????

I really should keep careful records of what I pop into spots on our lot; I tend to forget what things are.

Well it looks like Carol won't be able to go down there this year and help you out, Diane - maybe next year?
I was looking at some of my perennials that are coming back and yours sorta maybe looks a little bit like an astilbe? Have you planted any of those?
Though I am also leaning towards bleeding heart?

I've been watching this post for a while, when it dawned on me: Centaurea? I'm guessing Centaurea dealbata. I have some starting to leaf out, and this looks almost the same. Try this site: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/17648/

My Mystery plant now has a bud on it,, OMG I went back to the site you directed me too,,, the bud looks exact like the one there,,,, I DIDN"T plant any Persian here,, <( that I'm aware of ) What I planted was seeds sent by either Lynne or Dodge or seeds I got from CH when there,, It will be interesting what color it turns out to be!

I just planted your seeds yesterday, But the package was open which isn't uncommon because I always look at seeds when I get them,, I MAY have planted a few when I first received it from you,, I looked them up and the leaves aren't quite the same,, But the flower bud looks close! I'm leaning more towards Persian Coneflower and in the link Kenny showed,, did you sent me some seeds of that??

Yeah! At least now we know it's some sort of cornflower. I'm guessing its probably going to be pink. The blue one (C. montana has 'finer' foliage) or you might be lucky and it'll turn out yellow :) I just planted your seeds yesterday, But the package was open which isn't uncommon because I always look at seeds when I get them,, I HAVE to look at all the seeds that I get even if I don't plan on sowing them. It's some weird habit I guess lol
