Maxi got me ... a beautiful, large Boston fern; a jar of preserved strawberries (not strawberry preserves!); a barley lollipop and something I won't receive until Friday because he forgot to bring it. He also made my lunch and spoiled me rotten all day.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

Will you be taking a photo of your hanging basket to show us? I'll get one of my new Boston fern tomorrow once my girl helps me get it in place.

I got a nice hanging Fuchsia from Courtney and a dozen red roses from my mother and father in law.. I think they were more a get well token though. *wink* Also I got a rain check for a nice dinner out from hubby. Just getting out of the hospital today I just didn't feel up to it. Does anyone have any tips on how to care for my Fuchsia? Last year I had one that didn't do well at all. I didn't get this one from the same place though.. Last years held water really bad. And I think I basically drowned it. =( Boo! Sooo.. suggestions? =)

Awesome gifts everyone. I got a solar light for outdoors a rubber tree, some potted lilies (yellow) and a bottle of my Olay body wash. My kids aren't done yet. But not all are here right now. So my joy will be spread out a little.

Jennifer, Fuschias are easy to care for once you know what they need.
Keep in mind that they originate from South America, in the understory of the tropical or subtropical forest.
So, what does that mean?
It means they like to be kept moist, shaded, and in fertilized (rich) soil.
Morning sun or sun-dappled shade is okay but please do keep these tender plants from the hottest sun.
Fuschia is most often drowned than not! Look at and feel the soil of the plant before watering. If the soil is damp to the top, do not water. If it is drying out at the top, water. For the plant's best health, water it in the morning. It has leaf spores which close later in the day which will prevent it from getting rid of excess water.
You can feed this lovely plant with ordinary tomato fertilizer, believe it or not! This type of fertilizer is high in potash. If you cut it to 1/4 strength, you can fertilize at each watering while the plant is in bloom.

Very pretty Dodge! Just wait! It will be huge and gorgeous.. I love petunias.. but seem to kill them off mid summer.. LOL Not sure why.. they scraggly.. might be due to not enough water.. they seem to really require ALOT here.

Hello everyone!! WOW !!! everyone sure got nice things---Our family's sure seem to know us right???... ....PS: Barb--I really NEED to see the page Haley colored for her Granny B. Before I list my gifts I need to say I have never gotten so many things before....and I have been a mom for 30 years. First my DH, Rod, got me 2 bushes for our back yard---one is a Black Lace Elderberry, and the other is a Purpleleaf Sandcherry. I posted them in gardener's chat. Second My church gave all the mother's a rose so they brought me one home this morning.--Then my MIL got a vase full of roses for being one of the oldest mothers in the congregation (at church today) and she gave them to me. From My Youngest daughter, Emily, I got my froggie.--I have had it for awhile, she found it and thought to buy it for my next gift giving occasion & her DH made her give it to me the next time they saw me. but I told her it was my Mother's day gift!!! I love it!!!! My oldest daughter, Valarie, gave me my 4 cactus plants-(2 christmas, 1 easter cactus and 1 Tangerine twilight cactus)--((they are shown in houseplants)) about the same time that Emily gave me my frog so I told her that they were my Mother's Day gift from her. BUT today Valarie came with these----now how perfect is this for a gift??? she said that when she saw the book in Borders she just could not leave without it. !! I am glad she did not!!!--and the card---so perfect!!!

I think we all did so well---One gift is prettier/nicer than the other-----I love them all---it makes me smile to see/hear about all the gifts we all got!!! (& cinta, we ARE going to get photos of the finished project, right??) But I must say I think Haley's Picture she made just for Granny B takes the cake!!!--- Barb, thank you for your kind words.

I can't view the pictures at this school. I can view picturetrail and other places but not photobucket. Drives me nuts but it sounds like our children appreciate us. I received a yellow flower pot with all 3 grans handprints and a message from each on it. A big red flower pot that I had been eyeing and a seed bird feeder since I'm changing from the cage cake food. Also, Shelley cooked dinner for me last night. Today is her birthday so I'm returning the dinner only I'm buying instead of cooking. I'll post pictures when I get home.

I was joking Sheri, I knew you immediately.....What happened to the curly hair do? Hope you frame that photo for your album.. How nice everyone in a dress. At our place it was everyone in blue jeans......Even Haley.. She looks so sweet in them. All of you resemble mom for sure.. All good looking. And wow an outdoor luncheon for mama.

That is a wonderful picture, Sheri! WOW - 4 girls! Any boys in the mix also? What a picture to treasure for a long time! I told my husband not to go to the very expensive nursery to get me something - that's his "safe" when he doesn't know what to get. But with all of our expenses this year, plus taking in Butterscotch, I didn't want him to spend money on me. So what did I get? The usual cards and... a bag of mint milano Pepperidge Farm cookies!

You can not EVER go wrong with a bag of mint milano Pepperidge Farm cookies! Yummy yum yum.
No brothers at my house just sisters. And no father for the most part. I think I look most like my mother than anyone else. I have a picture of her mother that people think is me.

"They" didn't, Carol - Don did.
And I still don't know if he was the one who bought Amy's cards, as he has always done, but they were perfect! (He of course said that she bought them, but I don't think so...). One was about getting a piercing! And the other was about cats. Brian got me 2 cards that were perfect too - one from him and one from all the cats - sweet boy!

well I am more impressed----Rod always contends that I am NOT his mother--
mind you this was the first year in 30 that he has gotten his mom a gift and he only did it this year because I sent him out told him what to buy and where to go to get it.
The cards sound perfect----and they remembered you --and that is the point.

Those are all great ideas. It isnt our custom for Hubby to buy moms day cards for me .. He said I arent his mom......(ANd he is glad)LOL But I did get a great special friend Mom's day card from the First lady I ever met in seed swapping.. About 8 years ago..........She likes talking to me in email.LOL that was an honor. I bought pro life flowers on moms day at church.. One for my deceased sis , and one for me.. Monies go to the Unwed moms group. Just do your own thing..b
