Most of you have read that we had a black bear on our second story deck last week, as was evidenced by the heavy metal bird feeder pole being bent down to the ground once again.
AND I wrote about a wild turkey who was comfortably sitting on the deck railing (in the birds forum) just the other morning!
Well late yesterday afternoon, after my daughter returned home from college for the summer, and she and her brother were talking standing by the sliding glass doors in the kitchen...
they both yelled out - THERE'S A RED FOX RUNNING ACROSS OUR BACKYARD!!!
I caught a glimpse of him as he wandered off our property and onto our neighbors. We have lived here almost 16 years, and not once in all those years have we had a bear, turkey, or fox in our backyard!!! Yes they have been in the neighborhood so we've been told, but never have we seen them first hand here.
NOW if they had been coming in pairs, then I would be really concerned that the great flood is coming! But really... what is up with all this wildlife? There hasn't been any more building up of the area, as it's already been maxed out for years now.
And by the way I am loving seeing them - keeps life interesting you know?

Maybe word got out to all the critters in your area that you feed strays,,, and they're hungry too, and taking a chance you'll have something out for them too
