It is really sad when people do for themselves and ignore their kids- especially for medical stuff- could impact that little girl's life forever ignoring a UTI, could be evidence of sexual abuse too- you never know... the ones that bug me are the ones with food stamps but they have huge new cars.. cells in the latest style and their kids are filthy..... Nana the girl with the UTI has Medicaid so it wouldn't cost her mother. Union County doesn't even charge a copay that can be charged with Medicaid. pretty flowers.

HADEDA! So nice to see you on! I've been wondering about you! Those flowers are lovely. Merme

Good evening. I took a long nap today. I hope I can sleep at a reasonable time tonight. Is it Friday yet? I am so ready for a relaxing weekend. I dislike phone calls and I have been on the phone more in the last week than I have been in the last 5 years altogether.

Oksy now that I've gotten carried away doing Acronyms for Afgrey & Bill, I think it is time for bed!
Tina, I hope your Ted is feeling better tonight.
Safe away home, O my palies, and sweet dreams to you all.

Good Morning everybody!!! Well the storms came but for our area they were not as bad as they thought they might be. The severe storms went a bit north of here.--in the end we ended up with some of the strong winds and then the thunderstorms---luckily they were short lived. Today the weather will be nice before we begin the rains all over again tomorrow & possibley the weekend.--Which is good because I have an appointment for my back today. Tomorrow I shall know where I stand on my recovery journey. now I am off to begin getting ready to leave---I have a dentist appointment first---so it will be a busy day!!!-- I wish everyone a good day.

You will be busy today, Carol. I will cross my fingers for good news on all fronts for you. Our weather is to be hot, just hot. Not my favorite weather. I will be taking my son to school and doing my usual running around. I have some shopping to do. I'd rather vegetate in front of my computer all day. Bur there is so much to do still. But I can't think of a single phone call I need to make. So I think I am on top of the hump now.

Hello. I think a nap is in order. I did make one phone call today but it was for pleasure more than business. So all is well.

I'll fill y'all in...I still have no computer and I can't find work to buy one.
It'll have to wait, we have been busy with some reno work, finally got a few new windows and am putting them in as well as the usual paint and fix-ups from winter damage.
most of my bushes and trees have perished with the heavy snow so I have alot of yard work, we had a heat wave that lasted 4 days and melted everything. It even flooded out and destroyed the bridge to get into town, I'll send carol a pic so she can post it to show you. \\We had 15 feet of snow this time around, now we have a mess of water and mud.
Hoping to put in a big veggie garden this year, not that much grows here but I try.

Hi Tamara! So glad to see you popping in with an update!
I'm so sorry you lost your bushes and trees - was that due to the heavy snow and ice? And wow about the bridge! Are you able to get to town at all?
I'm glad you were able to build your back steps that you've wanted - I'd say that was a very good Mother's Day gift! And new windows and reno work sounds good too!
What else has been keeping you busy? Still baking lots of yummy things?

I'd tell yall I've had a long hard day, but that line is getting old. its seems the last couple of weeks have been long and hard. I am also ready for a relaxing weekend. So far, we have no plans.
Merme, how's maxi doing? have you heard? I haven't read back on the other thread... if you've already said something about it, pls forgive me.
I have the dishwasher and the cloths dryer running, so I feel like I'm doing something. ha ha. I need to run the vac tonight, but that can wait till I get my second wind. I'm already looking forward to going bed and it's only 5:30 here.

It's been a long, tiring day. It was 55 degrees, raining and oh man dear, the wind was fierce!
We are ready for something like summertime up here.
Safe away home, O palies mine, and sweet dreams to you all.

I spent yesterday looking at hair for lice. What is amazing to me is that parents know their children have lice but don't do anything about it until they can't be in school. One mother of 2 littles girls who were sent home told me she knew where they came from. They spent the night with their cousins whose heads were full BUT she let them spend the night anyway. Only 1 mom didn't want to come pick up her daughters. I had to threaten her with DSS - poor children.

ditchy, you are so bad.
When they complete the road in front of my house I might call in a landscaping company. I'm going to need ideas about changing the focus of my yard.

Mom's do need a mental health day.
I used to beg my girls to stay home from school all the time. They laughed about it for a long time because most students wanted to stay home and their mom wouldn't let them. Mine always wanted to go. Now Shelley is begging her children to stay home with her. I always hated when summer was over and they had to return to school.

Sheri--finally someone who feels like me!!! while I never asked my kids to stay home (they would of jumped at the chance to 'miss' school) I was always very glad to see summer begin and so sad to see it end. yippee!!! there are more of 'us' in the world!!!!!

When the girls were home we played in the pool all day long most days or they were in the pool while I was in the yard. I don't like to lay in the sun so when they returned to school I would swim a few laps and that was it. We had too much fun together.

Yes. Mom's need a mental health day too. My kids always jumped at any chance to stay home. I have always been very selective about choosing those non-sick days. But as long as grades and effort supported, my older crowd got about a ditch day a month. It was nice when we could do Disneyland on a school day for shorter lines about once a year. These days you can get a ticket as a parent for that act. So sad. Today was a job I had been putting off. I am awaiting a call back to find out how much the obit I submitted a bit ago is going to cost. That was not a fun job.

OH, Tina, I am so sorry--they charge for that??? that is just not right.----here that is free--or it was---1998 is the last time I ahd an occasion to deal with that, so I guess things could have changed since then--- at any rate I am so sorry for you.

Yes, things have changed. There are papers nearby where it is still free. But the local, most read paper where John lived and worked charges something like $5.50 a line. I want to be able to reach people that haven't gotten it by word of mouth. I put it off so long too. Everything else was easy in comparison. And waiting for the phone calls is killing me. I also need to go out.

Am I whining too much? I don't much care for whiners even when it is me. My call came in. I went out and I am back. I collected my mail. I have gotten many sympathy cards from my imaginary online friends. And I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. But Sheri's card just came in and it was so just right for me. I am very cheered now. I can now 'bulldog' my way through the rest of this.

You aren't whinning enough in my book. You know me. I complain at every chance. It's sad that the paper charges so much because when they say "a line" it's not a long line it's one of those short column lines.
