Here is what is blooming in my flower beds so far--well there is the weeds--
Here is my Anemone Annebella---it is supposed to be RED--- flowers-5-14-09001.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>
Below is my Evening Primrose---while it is pretty, I think most of it will get removed---it is far too invasive for where I was silly enough to plant it last year---

Very nice, Sheri! I wish I could grow gardenias outdoors - they smell soooooooo good! They always get spider mites indoors, so I haven't had any for a couple of years now.
Here is my clematis today - lots more blooms than previous years.
I let this grow from bird seed,, Just to see what I would get,, I have several of these growing around the feeders and surrounding areas, I've pulled several as well,,
Fox glove from cedar Hill,, It didn't get very tall at all But it Bloomed!

Beautiful clematis Lynne! I guess I'm going to have to get me an azalea plant Sheri those are gorgeous !
Diane, I think they're pretty when they're blooming but after that they're sort of ugly. If they weren't so hardy I wouldn't plant one and some of them were already here so I left them.
Here is a very very close up of a Jewels of Opar. The blooms are so tiny But when grown in a mass it looks awesome,, They are just starting to bloom! TK sent me these seeds 4 years ago,, and they just keep coming back!

Diane, you got an awesome close up on that one flower on your begonia! That whole plant looks like a bouquet of roses!!! I wish the really true color of that peach would show in photos....it is such a beautiful peach!!
And I was so glad that Canna opened the morning I left!!!
this lilly is gigantic this year. I guess cutting down some trees opened it up to the sun. I don't like it this big and I don't much like the color either.
ranunculus - these are actually much brighter yellow, but this is the best job my broken camera would do.
This is the "end of the driveway garden" in the rain. Some centaurea montana on the left, gaillardia oranges and lemons in the back, and orange calendula in front. The calendula is MUCH brighter orange than it looks - not yellow like that at all.
I had accidentally dug up these gladiola bulbs early this spring and didn't have a garden to move them to. Carol suggested potting them up in a pot. They are doing very well so far, don't you think?
your flowers are beautiful, Lynne, simply beautiful!!!! it makes me envious--- esp the oranges & lemons--mine are about 4 inches high, if they are in fact O & L--- remember they ended up blooming burgundy last fall.....

the ranunculus look like they're made of paper. They're so pretty. Great about the 12 pounds.
Thanks Sheri! I wish you could see the ranunculus in person - they are so vivid! I have them on my deck so I can see them everytime I am at the kitchen table, or looking out the back windows. I have read that they are a short lived flowering plant here, but there are a few more buds still so I hope they last at least a little while longer. And thanks about the pounds - it's not easy but I am determined to do this!!!
And thanks so much Carol! I hope your oranges and lemons bloom nicely for you this year - it's early still and I am glad your plants came back. As you know, mine did not and I had to buy all new ones this year.
evidentially red hot poker likes poor soil, blazing sun all day, no watering or fertilizer because it is in our field. Nothing goes on in that field that nature doesn't provide.
1st Bloom on bleeding heart vine,, It was in a pot last year,, I thought maybe it had died. I started cutting back the old dead vines,, and cut into some green,, so i took it out of the pot and planted it in the back corner of the yard that gets enough shade under the crape myrtle,, it's now about a foot tall and starting to vine out again,, and bloom

loving the zinnias. Wonder if Cindy has planted zinnias again? Remember how she had such tall, thick ones in KY before? None even about to bloom here. Pretty bleeding heart.
Diane - I do not think they are the same - my ornamental chives are in the allium family, and it says online that the pink sea thrifts are in the Plumbaginaceae family?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Wow they sure look a lot alike,,

That is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!! Yes I yelled Beautiful!!!!!!!! I remember when you posted that either last year or the year before and have been looking for it to be posted again,, I LOVE that Honeysuckle!
and The coneflowers around the tree in the front yard grew extra tall this year,, They are usually only about 1/2 this height Wonder why that happened?? If you look close in the center of the closet bunch of cone flowers you can see buds,, that is usually their height of growth, I guesstimating these are close to 3 Ft tall.

Thanks Diane. I need to hack it back this year - after it blooms - it has gotten very leggy and out of hand. I had wanted it to grow up onto the deck railing, and now that is has, it looks very unruly.
That lily is very striking! I've never seen one with that kind of coloration before.
My coneflowers grew to about 4 feet last summer. I think the older they get, the taller they get too. I won't know about this year, since they have been eaten to the ground more than once now, and are only bare sticks about 6 inches tall now.
I can see the pictures now!!! Lynne, that honeysuckle is so pretty. We just have the yellow kind that is such a problem. Does it smell good. And Diane, your coneflowers are so pretty around the tree with the hosta. I didn't realize they'd grow so well in some shade.
Sheri, that tennis ball tree is sooo cool! Do you know what it's called?

A few weeks ago I posted some pictures of my tri colored ajuga in bloom here in this thread. It's not blooming anymore, so I just posted some pictures up in the "plants and flowers" forum.
Here is the link in case anyone wants to see how the plant looks now.

my flower garden is full of black eyed susans for some reason. I like them but this is way too many. I think I'm going to pull everything up and start over next year. I may put vegetables out there instead of flowers next spring. They are all over my hill in front of the house and are popping up in the front flower beds too.
Kenny very nice pics----you sure grew some beautiful flowers thanks for sharing--I am with Jiffy---I need the names of several of them--thanks for posting them.
