Praying for Jimmy in his surgery and for one of our member's who lost their spouse last night
Prayers for Jimmy. He has so many of my best wishes. Yes, John passed away last night. He beat the odds given him by 9 months. He was feeling pretty good and was able to be productive and active. That was most important to him. He took a fall while working outdoors where he loved to be. John hit his head and got a concussion. His passing was peaceful and quick. He couldn't have asked for much more. He died with his boots on so to speak.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.

I'm so very sorry to read of your loss, Tina. Like others have said, I am glad he had the "extra" time to do what he loved best, and am also glad that he didn't suffer for long in the end. I hope you and your family find comfort in the love of those around you.
Cricket - I'm so sorry your husband was bitten. I hope he has an easy and quick recovery.
Jimmy - I'm so glad that everything went well for you. Please get well soon so you can be here posting all about your critters.
Important item first. Tina I am so sorry for your loss of John . Although I never met him or talked to him I always thought of him as a very good friend. My prayers are being sent up for comforting arms around you and your kids and all the family. I know how hard it is to lose a spouse although my kids were all grown and gone. Let me know if there is anything I can do I know we are miles apart but I will do as much as possible for you. Take care of yourself we all love you here.

Thank you all for your prayers and Diane for helping me and posting my condition on here. If not for her and my daughter Joyce I don't know what I would have done. It feels strange not to be in constant pain I even forget my cane a lot of times now have to go back and get it.Joyce bless her heart had her hands full her youngest daughter Jaimie had to have emergency surgery on a ruptured appendix While they took care of that Jaimie lost her baby which was only 10 weeks along. Dean one of my sons had a heart attack Thursday and was in yet another hospital. Everyone is doing better now. Again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. And thank you Diane for being at the other end of the phone for me through all of this. I love you all this is the best garden forum with the best people in the world. Prayers still for Juniegirl and Crickets family and Eva can find a job she can live on.

Yes Jimmy, I believe you and John would have been fast friends with similar ethics and interests. Thank you for praying for us. And thank you for recovering to still be here to be my friend, too.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
Please pray for Maxi's 7 yr old brother, DJ. He's been sick for 6 days, I think, and his mom has taken him to different ER's three times over the last four days and now they are at his family doctor's.
The kid can't keep anything at all whatsoever down. The ER's all gave him IV fluids and anti-nausea medication, even one very potent one most often used for chemo patients, but he still threw up the apple juice they gave him.
They've run all sorts of tests and can't find anything wrong. So, we're all hoping his regular doc can think of something to get to the bottom of this.
This situation has gone on far too long and the kid is in misery. I'll let you know what his doc says.

I had something stupid like that this winter.. Throwing up and diar. at the same time for about 4 days......i was really out of it for a while.. Be calm and pray with us.
DJ is still in the hospital. They still do not know what is wrong. They are still running tests.
Also please pray for his mother Christine. She is exhausted and also has a 2 year old at home wanting her.

Sorry to hear about DJ. Saying lots of prayers for him and his family!
Please keep Tristen in your prayers over the next few days. His great grandmother passed away and the wake is tonight and funeral tomorrow. This is Tristen's first experience with death and he does not know what to expect. I'm not sure how he will react to all of this. Thank you!
OH MY I am so sorry for the little guy, merme--I will of course be praying
and will be watching for an update.
Same here Merme! Hope they get a diagnosis soon and are able to get relief quickly! Do you know if they have tested him for swine flu? I hope that is not what it is especially with another child so young in the house. Do keep us up dated.
Plantgueen, my thoughts are with Trist also. My son was 10 when he lost his first Grandparent and once I was able to get him to open up and cry ( his father had him believing that boys weren't suppose to cry ) and release and share his grief he did very well. Just let him know that she will always be there in spirit and his thoughts to keep loving him and watching over him.

My next house will have no kitchen - just vending machines and a large trash can.

Oh my goodness, Jessica--I am so sorry---I hope it all goes as good as something like this can go. I am sending prayers out for your whole family.
I do remember that my Valarie took her que from how we reacted. I will also say, Valarie now tells me some of what she was thinking under various circumstances----and apparently our little ones often to not understand what is happening, so even some of the basic things should be explained (in a way that will be understood) to Tristen, before he scares himself with his imagination.--you know your child best--so you will know what to say & when I am sure.
an example: 1 christmas---my DH took the Valarie out to buy me a gift.--She was so happy but when I opened the gift I began crying--(I was so pleased) all Valarie could think was "why is my mommy crying I guess she hates my gift"---
she is 29, and this happened before she was in school--and this is the first time I have heard this story--Makes me wonder how many more there are.......

I bought a few books about death and heaven from a christian book store a couple months back and have been reading this as we anticipated this death. I don't think he fully understands it still. I have explained to it that is okay to cry and people are sad when someone dies but have said that she is heaven with God and it is a good place! He hasn't cried yet but I don't know that he really knows that she is gone. I have no idea what to expect out of him in the next couple of days. Thank you for your prayers!!
Danforth was discharged from the hospital this morning. The docs never did figure out what is wrong, exactly. He's on some medications for digestion for the next few months and a pediatric gastroenterologist will be following him.
As a humor sidenote...
Danforth's mom called me to tell me the news & while we were on the phone, her 2 year old dumped a container of yogurt on his head and was running around the kitchen doing a Tarzan-like yell!
He must have been thinking "Mom's home! Time to act crazy! See Mom? I've missed you!"

So glad little DJ has been released from the hospital---I am getting that the Drs felt confidant enough for that to be ok so that is good. I hope the gastroenterologist gets to the bottom of the problem so it does not happen again.
That is a cute story about DJ's little brother, I could just 'see'him running around the kitchen. ---I guess he was doing a little celebrating of his own, huh???
