For bookmarks, go to "VIEW" at the top of the page and on "TOOLBARS" clock Bookmarks. Then, under VIEW > SIDEBAR, click Bookmarks again.

What I had meant was ~ From the firefox previous to yesterday before Firefox crashed on me and I couldn't get on the internet at all,, Finally IE Let me open windows But that took some time to do. I was told My book marks should be in my hard drive some where,, But I don't know how to retrieve them lost from yesterdays Crash or even IF I can, Thanks Thorney for your suggestion,,,I did what you said to do On the chance it will show them but Nope it only shows what I have begun to save as of today. Any other ideas that may help retrieve them will be appreciated.

I was told My book marks should be in my hard drive some where,, But I don't know how to retrieve them lost from yesterdays Crash or even IF I can, Okay I did a search in my computer for Book marks , it took me to advanced search,, I told my computer I wanted bookmarks BEFORE yesterday, I found them I still don't know HOW to get them all on My Book mark button like it was before the crash,, so I just Book marked the page I found them on in my computer, I went to the firefox Bookmark web page and I would have had to add a plug in or an extension to place them back on the button from what I understand for Vista,, I wasn't going to chance loosing firefox again, Reports are saying adding plug ins and extentions mess up the fire fox version 3.0.3 BUT at least I now know where they are in my computer,

You could just open up each bookmark, and then re-bookmark it on your new FF...

I don't know Sheri How I fixed it exactly,, Noone here knew how to help me get Firefox back, so I looked on line and found sites with people with the same issue, Some of their fixes worked and some didn't. I know I won't be doing anymore Updates for Firefox until I receive info from a reliable source that it's compatible with my version of Vista. I just kept trying different things. I did however on my last attempt removed Avast and turn off firewalls, opened up 3rd party cookies and downloaded AND removed Firefox several times using different versions, until one stayed,,,so far so good. As soon as I realized an older version of Firefox stayed I reloaded Avast and so far so good. So what worked for me may not work for all,< at least according to the firefox site of complaints. Thanks to Bill's suggestion I now have all my previous Bookmarks restored in the bookmark Button.

Well, you can try importing the old bookmarks; firefox backs them up every couple of days...
You'd do Bookmarks, Organize, Import, blah blah blah...
The location would be something similar to: WXP: c:\documents and settings\username\application data\thunderbird\profiles
And should be named something like "bookmarks" (for the bookmarks file currently used) or bookmarks.bak

Hi James I did see something to download with Thunderbird in the name but I didn't understand what it was about, Now I'm scared to download anything at all. Since My bookmarks are back where I want them,,, Maybe I will leave well enough alone, but thanks for letting me know I would have been okay with the thunderbird thingie < )

I didn't mention to download something did I?...
The files I was mentioning are already on your computer, in your application data folder, in the thunderbird subfolder, and holds all of your saved passwords, bookmarks, etc; but I think only the bookmarks data are backed up automatically...
