Hello, I have an Orange Honeysuckle vine/tree in my yard. I'm guessing it is as old as my home @15yrs, I have lived here for 5 years and every May-Oct it blooms beautifully until it goes dormant for the winter months, if you can even call it 'winter' I live in Phoenix, AZ. But this morning I just noticed something I've never seen in 5 years. This vine/tree produced a big bean-like pod! It's like a giant pea pod about 7-8 inches in length. Has anyone ever seen this before or heard of such a thing? Could it be a big pod of seeds so I can cultivatle some offspring of this vine/tree? Your help is appreciated!

Welcome angelwingz. I am thinking this is not a honeysuckle at all. You just described the seedpod from a common trumpet creeper, Campsis radicans. And yes you can plant them and get new plants. Hummingbirds like them a lot.

My guess as well. i know of no orange honeysuckle.
You may also dig rhyzomes (runners) from underground and replant those.

You are quite welcome. My friend has this growing on an arbor entering her front gat. Those bean pods are heavy and hard and can actually hurt when they clobber you on the head. So thread carefully!
