I have had a situation with a few cucumber plants this year. They are disappearing totally. What I noticed the other day when I planted again was a bunch of rolly polly bugs in the dirt where the plant had been. When I got compost to work into the soil to replant I noticed that there are a bunch of them in the compost pile. Should I try to get rid of them? What I read online says they are good for moving the soil but I think they are eating my tender plants.

It's possible, but I'm surprised there's nothing at all left. the main problem I've ever had with them is when a tomato rests right on the ground, they like to eat the bottom side. Nothing like seeing a gorgeous tomato, picking it, and discovering that it's ruined. If you don't have your cukes supported yet, do so, from what I have seen rolly pollys don't climb.
