The first looks like amaryllis to me. The second does look like verbena. I have never smelled my verbena.

Hi nml,
I agree, those first ones look like amaryllas and they are beautiful. The second sure looks like verbena to me and not all verbena has a scent. BTW, the orchids you sent me are doing great--thanks again! The piper nigrum hasn't put out any roots yet but it's still green :)

nmlAlba your flowers are beautiful. The first one is a old Armaryllis from years ago. I have one similar that was told it is was developed before they started with all the new fancy ones you see.

Yours looks like species H. striatum.

The one rose I wanted most of all does not look good at all. tears

I had it in a large container and in the greenhouse all winter, yes it got cold but.... why

The other ones are doing just fine in the ground, cleaned everything up last week, trimmed them down and I could see green coming through. ;)

mine does have a slight fragrance...if you get down on knees and listen them pop as you sniff.Butterflys like them.I have a small patch that reseeds and returns each year. They grow on sides of road along the woods& washout areas.
