Below is supposed to be a Green Envy Echinacea. These are new blooms. I have read that the multi colored petals will eventually go to a deep magenta but the the green petals can stay as long as 1 month--well these blooms have neen here about 2 or 3 days----
I am thinking this plant got the wrong tag pushed in its soil?? anyone have an idea what kind of Coneflower this actually is???/

Well, that one does look lile green envy...pink edged in green. (which is what I meant to say in my other post instead of the other way around). The newer echinaceas often take a second year to fully show the correct bloom (like the doubles) so you may have a grren envy after all.

well thanks for checking back in---

I will say that in all the photos online they are very green petals with a bit of pink/purple at the center of each petal. Then somewhere it said after about a month or so the petals w2ould turn all pink. why

The first time I looked for pictures I came across another green echinacea that looked like it might be that BUT now I cannot find my way back to that variety I was going to ask you to look at it and see what you thought.--it was green________

I wrote it down at the time, but I cannot find where I wrote it now-- blush

There is another green one called Green Jewel, but it is completely green. I used to have one, but it got buried by another plant that got bigger than expected and it died before I even noticed. There is also one called Green Eyes, which has a green center. The blooms of Green Envy do end up pink as they age.

Thanks Alan for the info--it was making me crazy (well more crazy than I am) that I could not find the names of the other green Echinaceas.
