One of my blue juniper trees (only five yrs old) is getting yellow at the top. The bark has curled back - rest of the tree looks ok and is still blue. Anyone know how I can save this tree? Should I just cut off the top yellowed part? I hate to cut down a tree, and this one is part of a privacy planting.

Welcome, fuffy. Check carefully where the bark has peeled back for any signs of insect activity. Some type of borer maybe. I have lost a few junipers and similar evergreens due to insect activity that is not easy to see until the tree starts dying. I would see what your local nurseryman or extension office has to say about the best treatment. And treat all of them not just the sickly one. Because if one has something then more than likely the others do or will soon.

It does nail it down much better if you do, yes. Try to get a piece of a branch with the peeling bark if you can.
