It is only about 8:40 here but feels so much later. I won't be up all that much longer either

I know what you mean, I'm ready for bed already too. I have to go to the store tonight though, good thing it's still not really late. Work has been hectic, we're going through our annual state survey. Hopefully they'll be done tomorrow. Then everyone will calm down. I'm back on my 5k training program so I'll be running by the lake tomorrow (and walking, can't run that far yet). The girls have been busy babysitting this week, Aros had a job that lasted two days. Thanks to me, one of my co-workers hired him to do some work in her house. Tomorrow after work I have to stop by the library and pick up a book, go to the bank and figure out why they wouldn't let me get a secured credit card. It's a secured credit card, backed by my own money as collateral, why would I be rejected? This whole credit thing is really a drag. All I really want is a better car, a newer car, a car that doesn't leak onto my seat when it rains. Thank goodness we've had a dry summer but our wet season is just around the corner. I'm hungry, think I'll go make a tuna sandwich.

I have no problems sleeping through the coyotes raising Cain outside. But it does bother me to have my dogs join the chorus. So I am temporarily up. My dog is a bit damp from the spray bottle of water I keep for just such occasions and hiding because he understands I am not pleased. I did warn him 3 times before going for it. And he got the message finally.
I am headed back to my pillows.

Yes-- Kat & Tony are very happy! I like them both very much!! As an amusing aside, Tony was John's very first graduate student! Don't tell her I mentioned this, but all the while she was off running around trying to find the man of her dreams, he was coming over to our house for Sunday Supper every week. (Of course, he was trying to find his dream-girl, too!) It wasn't until she moved back home, and he needed a place to live during his last summer finishing his dissertation-- all while we were away living in VA-- that they got to know one another. Anyway-- here are John & Tony. This is funny stuff b/c this will most likely be the one and only photo of both of them in a dress shirt at the same place & time.


I got up early this morning to stake out my garden. Turns out that some "long-haired bare-foot hippy type" (this is how my neighbor described him) strolled into my back garden and stole a basket full of ripe tomatoes while we were away. This explains why there were no tomatoes to pick when we got home. Apparently, he lives around here. I will hunt him down. I hate a thief.

Good Morning everyone!!! I am stopping in for a few minutes while I drink my morning coffee & eat some breakfast. Then it is off to get cleaned up & ready to go to what will hopefully be my last Drs. appt. for my incisional hernia mesh repair surgery. Yea me.

My Emily is taking me, so I will get to see her as well.
