I've been growing it all summer and have no idea what to call it. I guess 'that thing on the yellow chair' won't do.

I am pretty useless with house plants. Unless they will grow outside in the ground here. And not always helpful with any plants out of my zone. I am sorry.

Tina, a lot of our houseplants are probably ones you guys use as landscaping plants outside lol
Carly, the closest thing I can come up with is some sort of Fittonia
Helping the world one seed at a time When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Well, that looks 'close', doesn't it? http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.plantoftheweek.org/image/pilea1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.plantoftheweek.org/week132.shtml&h=303&w=384&sz=22&tbnid=4I6pWfLMbM7W1M:&tbnh=97&tbnw=123&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpilea&hl=en&usg=__YO0Jt09g03Ukk4EA8mCfpur0-Tw=&ei=xW-NS46rDsjM8QaS7smoDw&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=5&ct=image&ved=0CA4Q9QEwBA Have a look here, and see how much of it has grown . . . That was in the fall . . . There's two in there . . . and I've got one on the windowsill in the office. I think they'll make good plants for the sconces I have on each end of my table garden. It started out as a wee piece I got when I was out in Fort Erie visiting my brother last summer; it's been booming since. I've yet to see any flowers.

I am pretty useless with house plants. Unless they will grow outside in the ground here. And not always helpful with any plants out of my zone. I am sorry. Oh, I had these growing outdoors in summer. When I got the clipping at my brother's place in Fort Erie, it was outdoors - and in shade. I started my clipping indoors (last year) and kept it going all summer outside on my table garden. It actually separated on its own - made two plants. Now . . . if my watering procrastination hasn't killed them, there'll be two more, 'cause I just did clippings off those. Gotta' water today - haven't done so since last Tuesday.

Oh yeah - and I've already given the clippings some fertilizer . . . Jobes . . . it's almost gone; I still have one sleeve of Miracle Grow left - might start up with that at the end of the month.

OK - thought I'd update y'all on this one . . . you wouldn't believe how these two slips grew! I have a sheetload of 'em - last night, I potted the last of my plants for indoors. I've saved quite a bit of this stuff - at least three pots. But there was a big root of it left - big as a breadbox worth. I just put it in the ground. Might even be pleasantly surprised in spring to find out the 'Fort Erie Clippings' actually over wintered. Dunno'. The 'pilea' link is closest. But when I don't remember it, 'scuse me if you see me still referring to it as the 'FEC'. Thanks all for your help on this stuff. (Glad I kept it - I just love the stuff even if it never gave me flowers - 'course neither did some men I knew in my single days - but they weren't bad men - heh! heh!)
