Things didn't go as planned...another cat scan on the 28th, then straight to the surgeon's office...and we will go from there.

Goodness Cindy--when will you finally get this surgery out of the way, HUH???

I say be sure to rest a lot between now & the 28th. That will hopefuly help thigns along. Styill praying for & thinking of you....

Peg's back surgery went very well but ever since, she has had some problems with communication and processing information. The docs are going to run tests to see if she perhaps had a stroke or something. She is 85, so it could just be the pain medication coupled with her age. She responds best to her grandson, Ted.

Please continue to pray for her.

Prayers for sis Peg Merme ... and all our GH family spoken and not- special ones for our Jimmy to be home safe and better than ever....and for Cindy to get her treatment and heal up especially well- lots of rest now ...

Sherri & Barb said it very well---I am praying for all the above mentioned people and for all others mentioned & unmentioned.

I'm home from the hospital. Things got moved way earlier than planned. And, as it turned out, the surgeon couldn't do much for the access in my arm, so the surgery was very brief. He said unfortunately, it is as good as it is going to get. Hopefully, though, it will last a little while longer before they have to figure out a place to put another access.... probably it would have to be in a leg which I am reluctant to do.

Now, I have to sleep these heavy medications off.

Maxi forgot to turn the heat down this morning before he left and man, it is COOKING in here! I can't quite reach the gizmo on the wall to turn it down myself, plus it requires climbing over the couch. I might just try to reach it with the yardstick and get this place cooled off!

But at the same time I'm glad there wasn't major complications

Please remember my dear friends David & Claire in your prayers for the next few days. Tomorrow they are leaving on a long and sad drive to NJ, stopping to pick up David's mother on the way in CT.

David's teenage nephew Will died yesterday as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash on Sunday. His longtime girlfriend was driving. She has survived.

The entire family is devastated, of course; the girlfriend must be beyond wracked with grief.

It should take them between 12 to 14 hours to make the drive down there because of the detour & stop in CT.

I'm praying for their strength and peace so they can keep their wits about them for that amount of travel.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your prayers without them I am sure I would not have made it through four surgeries as well as an emergency surgery to stop excessive bleeding and infection. right before the emergency surgery the kids were told to call all the family here and make plans for the worst. But everyone's prayers pulled me through. I got home Friday to a bunch of happy critters I am still very weak and can't do much nurse comes in and takes care of me and changes the dressing on my wound vac 3 times a week. Lady I had taking care of my animals did great with them but let every plant I have die but I can replace them next year I guess. I will be on as I feel up to it just have to not over do anything right now. Thank you all again for your prayers.

Nice to hear from you, Jimmy. You still have my prayers for a smooth recovery. You are one strong man to get through what you have. It is to be admired.

Yes Jimmy - prayers of thanks going up and of course prayers for all our GH family going on too... sorry about plants but glad critters had good care... you rest and get stronger ... we need you around here for a long time coming..

Merme--so sorry to hear such sad news---the entire family will be in my prayers.

Jimmy: It is so nice to hear form you.----I am so glad that you r animals are well, and yes the plants can be replaced when yo uare sure to bu up to it.

PLEASE take care and do not ever do more that you are allowed to do-----I am here to tell you that if you do as you are advised, in time all will be well.
THEN you can return to your normal schedule....

My prayers will continue.....

I go in to the doctor today for my feet (horrible infection due to ingrown toenails) with any luck they'll be able to do the whole surgery mumbo jumbo without much hassle... so keep me in your minds today?

of course we will pray for you , James--I hope that all goes well---

At home now, pretty wrecked out lol... Surgery went good, but the numbing solution they put on wore off and i'm in quite a bit of pain now... They gave me a perscription for vicoden (7.5/500) so hopefully it'll help...

The growth was a tumor according to what they wrote in the papers, then they took the nails off of my big toes and destroyed the nail bed so it shouldn't grow back (and cause further issues in the future).

I'm supposed to stay completely off my feet all weekend, and I need to go back in on Tuesday so they can re-dress my feet; until then I get "special shoes" (which aren't really that bad lol).

They told me to keep an eye on blood and if theres anything severe to go to the ER ASAP, so I get to basically sleep on the futon for the next week or so lol...

Thanks for keeping me in your minds/prayers; I really do appreciate it greatly :)

yes james, PLEASE listen to the drs. You want this to be over/healed as soon as possible----prayers still going out to you.

Power went out today, had to get up and do some stuff since it was pitch black lol; can feel swelling, not a good feeling lol...

Irony was, I took a nap from 3 till 6, power went off at 6:15 and I got tosit around till 9-10 when power finally came back on

They should of given you a wheel chair..

My friends are back from their grueling trip to NJ. It was every bit as tough as they feared. And of course, the concern is how well the girlfriend is coping with the fact that she was driving the car at the time of the accident. She has her whole life before her and oh we are praying that she will heal this hurt in her heart.

Merme I know your friend isn't in the state of mind to hear that time heals everything,, But it does,, Hurt travels a long hard way with one in life,, but eventually she will find a soft place
Please continue to pray for Jimmy,, yes he is home,, but he has bad days and good days. He is so discouraged from not being able to get out and do things, and he continues to lose weight. I talk with him nearly everyday, and it's sad for me to hear in his weariness in his voice . Prayers for you Jimmy, for patients , understanding, and healing

Prayers for the families of those that were killed and wounded today in Fort Hood , Tx. It was a horrible horrible thing that happened senseless deaths .. These were proud soldiers getting their last minute medical/dental checkup before being sent over seas. God Be with their families.
