My girl's boss did pick up all the lego's and get the closet door shut for me but she didn't stay to sort out the entire problem in that closet. So, I think she wanted to leave it for the regular girl to do. A boss's prerogative, I suspect.

I am so glad you are recovering, Nana. All of that sleep sounds like our experience with the N1H1. I hope you stay well now and the rest of your recovery is smooth.

Would someone PLEASE go delete that additional coffeehouse I started? 2240?

When I was here the last time, 2239 was at the top of my page and it had closed. I was surprised because the last CH I'd been in before going shopping hadn't seemed that full! I thought I put in the next to last post or something before it closed!

It is still raining here today. Surely we're out of the drought by now. I guess it's nice to have a little reserve though. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get those pansys I bought last Saturday planted.

My grandson felt a little better yesterday but today he feels worse. My daughter called his teacher and she said he's far ahead of the other students so not to worry. I feel so sorry for him. He's already so skinny you can see every bone in his body. I can't imagine him getting thinner. The baby, Aubry, woke up at 4 this morning crying with a temperature and Shelley gave her some Motrin. She seems fine now. She's at least eating. I sure hope Darbi doesn't get this mess.

Oh Sheri ,
I hope the worst is over for them too- it's certainly no fun to have it....rest and tylenol and motrin is really all you can do - that and lots of liquids... all my prayers are heading for your little ones.

Nana, how long did it take for you? And are you totally over it?

Well, tonight for dinner we had pulled pork, cole slaw, corn on the cob and potato salad. Maxi didn't like the pulled pork. He announced at the table, for the first time ever, that he doesn't care for the taste of BBQ sauce! I was surprised because he's never said so before!!

I thought it was yummy, though!

I'm taking a dinner of this stuff to one of my dialysis tech's tomorrow. I think she will like it very much.

So the kid is out for his karate class. Then it will be home, shower, homework and bed.

Will this day never end?

Well I have been watching the coverage of the 6 yr old they thougt took off in a homemade helium balloon that looked like a UFO... they followed the thing all afternoon till it finally lost enough helium and came down... no boy inside- so they thought he might have fallen out- I had to go pick up the boys and when I came home they were still looking for him, then they announced they found him in a box in the attic of the family garage- he had hidden cause he thought he was in trouble... this took all afternoon .... scary... but so glad they found him okay.
YOur dinner sounds good to me... Tell Maxi our Derek won't eat much of anything without bbq sauce on it- used to be catsup then A1 - now its bbq sauce.... they are big on sauces these boys.
Well off to make a snack for the hungry boys....

Sheri we were sick for about 6 weeks - started with strep with us and then the flu then strep again- so we had a double dose of it...

You and yours have been through the wringer, Nana. This flu is not a nice thing to get. Harder on some than others.

Coming in to wish everyone a good night. I'm not very good for much after 8 pm. It may have something to do with the early mornings.

Last night I had Maxi turn the heat up a bit because it was very cold in here. When I got up this morning, the house was freezing and I couldn't figure out why for a few minutes. Until I turned around and saw ... my front door wide open!

No wonder it felt like an ice box in here even with the heat turned up! As soon as Maxi shut the door, it warmed up. I'm just sorry I didn't get up during the night so I could have seen it. Now I gotta figure out how to lock that door down tightly so it can't blow open like that in high wind.

Criminals think up all sorts of schemes. They're smart people. They could get a real job and a paycheck at the end of the month. Now criminals are selling fake Tamiflu, some of it coming from India. You'd think people would realize that if you're told you need a prescription for a medicine that you probably won't get the real thing from an online site. I sure hope no child ends up in trouble because their parent treats them with something pretend rather than taking them to the doctor.

Still raining in Monroe. If we don't have a frost soon we're going to have to mow the lawn. It was dead all summer and now it's growing. So funny.

Fake Tamiflu is a very bad thing. I wonder how many flu deaths could be laid at their door?

Merme: I am so sorry about your open door. However waht you said is preferable to what I thought when I read ther first line. I thought oh my now Merme's furnace is not working. Also I am glad that no one took advantage of your door being open. Just closing the door was an easy fix. Good for you.

!! This is the first I had heard of that type of thing. I am in constant fear of gettign the flu as my immune system is not quite up to par yet.

I guess some people just do not have the resourses but it is like Dr. Oz said...there are free clinics all around--people just have to l ook for them.

and ya know I have to ask---Surely the government (ours and theirs) knows this is going on--I would think something could be done to shut these people & their sites down--- Perhaps I am just lucky that I can afford to buy the medicines I need, HUH??

I am just dropping in to let everyone know that I am out of the 'house' for the day. I am going with mom to visit my aunt (her sister). I will catch you all later. Have a nice day everyone.....

We are having significant wind gusts today, so hopefully we'll just drive the 8 miles down the turnpike and not get blown down there... wouldn't wanna end up in Oz.

Hi everybody!

The wind wasn't as bad in our area as predicted, thankfully.

I had an easy time at dialysis and that too was a relief.

Maxi's bulbs he ordered for the school fundraiser came in today. Tomorrow we will mail them to his Aunt in OH, his Aunt in PA, and his dear friend in CT. I think those ladies will be very pleased!

Now I have a big pot of New England style Fish Chowder on bubbling on the stove. It seemed perfect for a cold and blustery day. But I must admit, I got a bit carried away and when I say I have a BIG pot cooking, I mean BIG!!

I hope everyone had a good day today and are glad for the weekend ahead.

Do you know of any free clinics in your area? There aren't any in mine. The indigent clinic in Monroe charges a $75.00 fee for new patients and the so called indigent clinic in Charlotte charges the same. The flu vaccine isn't free around here. People with Medicaid can get it at the Health Department but the rest of us are on our own. My area definitely needs indigent clinics that are really low or no cost.

There are plenty of clinics here but like Sheri's they charge a hefty fee.

Just in your area Tina or do you think it's most of CA? Why do people think there are free clinics for adults. I've heard other TV people besides Dr. Oz say that. I know of 1 that is in Concord, NC but they only accept people who can prove they live in Concord. And why does an indigent clinic think indigent people, like street people for instance, can pay $75.00 to see a doctor? That's just nuts.

I am not sure what may be available in Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego, etc. It seems with our homeless population due to our climate there might be something there. I just don't know.
