I need new smoke alarms too. I am not happy with a couple of mine.
I am coming in to say good night. Again. Another very busy day awaits me tomorrow.

Carol Jean, I like your rhyme!

Something got fixed in my life this morning, so maybe your title was a good luck omen! lol

About 2 months ago my Rolodex got lost. We searched the entire house repeatedly with no success. I had a feeling it could have fallen under the desk and had my girl go under there to look. She did, several times. Maxi went under there as well. Nope, it ain't there.

Well, my girl went under there again today to do something else and found the Rolodex!!! YAY!!! My crops are saved!!!

I had that little thing for 15 years and it is packed not just with phone numbers but also all sorts of other necessary information. And, it has numbers I couldn't easily get again... people I only know by first name, for instance.

I've been trying desperately to recreate it with 3x5 cards in a file box and I've been miserable with it.

So I'm a-celebrating today! I've got my Rolodex! I've got my Rolodex!!! lol

I need to go back to the couch where I belong.
I read Merme's entire post and was picturing a watch (Rolex)...
...I guess because I used to call my Rolex a "Rolodex" because it was fake...($30 at the flea market).

Hello all. I've been shooting flu mist up students noses or injecting it into their arms all week. We've got one more day of it, Monday, and then we're through. All of the injection students have acted nicely. It's been the flu mist kids who've acted out. What's wrong with that picture?

I think we're in for more rain this weekend.

Lynne, how's your mother?

You guys who thought I was referring to a watch! lol You musta thought I was outta my ever-living mind "trying desperately to recreate it with 3x5 cards in a file box"!!! haha (That Merme's gone bezerker -- she's trying to make a watch with index cards!!! yikes) That really would have been desperate! Oh how you guys made me laugh.

I'm feeling frisky because I had the best dialysis today I've had in a month and actually nearly finished the entire treatment... only got off 12 minutes early AND ended at my dry weight. YAY!

Gotta round up my wandering child, so see you all later.

That sounds delicious. I added another 20 cubic feet of potting mix to my raised bed for a grand total of 46 cu/ft. I could add more I'm sure but I needed to plant it. I really can add more later. So I have about 75 bulbs and some plants in there for a spring showing. My back is feeling it so it is time to rest myself. And it is hot, almost 90*.
I can plant more later.

Oh How I hate winter------

merme--I am so glad we could afford you a laugh...and I am glad that your dialysis went so well. That is always a good thing to hear.

Congrats, Marica. I am so thrilled for you. Now relax before you jump into the real work ahead.
I did plant more tonight before it got dark. That is so satisfying. But I am sore and achy from my labors. I took Motrin for that crud and plan on getting some good sleep now.
And water, water, water.

Hi everybody! wavy

We have a great deal of rain today, so Maxi's big band concert is canceled for tonight.

So we are busy packing him up for camp. He leaves on Monday morning.

It will be strange having him gone from Monday to Friday. I have to finish his Halloween costume while he is away. Then for Halloween his good friend Tyr is coming from out-of-town to go Trick Or Treating with Maxi and spend the night. It is gonna be a whirlwind.... but lots of fun.

The couch is the best place for you right now, Cindy, if it can't be the operating table. You still hold a lot of my prayers in your hands.
I am planting up a storm.

Hi everyone! Haven't been around, got busy again. Darn work and life getting in the way of my internet activities. Anyway, things are pretty good here. We carved pumpkins with the kids, they are so cute I love them! We haven't carved pumpkins in years. Mostly because we didn't want to do all the work, the kids are all old enough now to do the work themselves. My running is going good, keeping at it anyway. Today I'm lazing around. I made breakfast, did the dishes, and am almost done with the laundry. I'll go for a run in a bit when my stomach is more digested. I bought a bunch of new songs on itunes today so I've been listening to them. I've signed up for NaNoWriMo. It's a challenge to write a novel of at least 50,000 words in 30 days. I've got an idea all ready for it and I'm looking forward to giving this a try. That's about it with me. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

You have been busy, Cheryl. You set some interesting challenges for yourself. Novels, weddings and running. When are you going to sign up for the Boston Marathon? grin
I have only been planting and a little clean up outside and in. Working on tossing all of the things trying to hide in the back of my fridge. I have room to pack more in there now.

The Boston marathon? I don't know, maybe 2012, lol That's reaching a bit. I can't even do five miles let alone 26. I would like to achieve marathon running status someday though. Next week I start upping my runs and adding speed and strength training. I have some yard work that could use doing but I keep putting it off. Just not into fall clean up this year.

Cheryl ~ your plans, as always, sound so interesting!

I hope Cindy got plenty of rest on that couch today.

Has anyone seen Nana on?

Maxi and I are winding down for the night. It has been a long day and we had a nice dinner then spent the evening reading. Just a few more chores and I'll call it quits.

Hope everyone has a nice night!

Good morning everyone---I had a great time last night. I do not think we did so well, but hey it was fun and I get to spend time with family.....And I go the meet the new boyfriend---he was real nice.

Today I am about ready to leave for an entire day of working at My Church's Sausage Supper. I am going to work in the pie room---(we cut the pies up and send out a constant array of differnt pies to "the pie table" so as people go thru to be seated, they can pick out their dessert.

When my girls come to eat, I will stop work and eat with them---

have a good one everybody--if I am not too tired, I'll try to catch you tonight---bye wavy

We have a beautifully sunny, but cold, day today. I love it when the sky is this clear blue color peeking through the leaves of the trees in their autumn finery.

We are both tired today but need to finish up Maxi's packing.

Breakfast is over (fried potatoes and eggs) and the dishwasher is running. The last load of laundry is in the dryer. Maxi just went to lay back down for a bit. This is unusual for him so he must really need it.

My cousin in NJ sent Maxi a box of clothes that she had gathered for his birthday earlier this month but couldn't get them mailed as quickly as she wanted to. She keeps her eye out for exceptionally good sales throughout the year and picks him up stuff here and there, until she gets a box full and tries to mail them sensibly... around birthday, Christmas, Easter or before Summer Camp.

Anyway, late this summer she ran into a sale at Macy's and bought Maxi two shirts that were originally $79. She got them for $29. One is so very pretty -- an extremely soft yellow w/ a very thin black horizontal stripe every 4 inches or so -- it looks great on him! She also found a red wool jacket.

So he is very pleased.

I just packed up all the books I want to donate on Monday. The mom of one of my dialysis Tech's buys way too many books every week. The tech has been bringing the overflow from her mom's stash to me to keep me occupied during treatment. I've met some interesting author's because of this & it does help me with the first hour. But now the books are over-running my little place, so off they go! Light reading is just what I need at the unit.

Last night I received an email w/ a link to a family album. My Aunt Doris & Uncle Len celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary and his birthday at a grand slam event hosted by their only son. Len Jr rented a big pavilion type tent for his yard. Good thing, too, as a Nor'Easter came through. The party-goers were fine!

So I sat here browsing the big photo album on-line, ignoring the photos of gray headed folks, concentrating on the younger set, looking for the faces of beloved family I haven't seen in two decades. Didn't see anyone I recognized and I thought "Didn't anyone I know go to this shingdig?" I was really perplexed until I saw the face of a gray headed man who was unmistakeably my older brother! lol

We ARE "the older generation" in our family now.... Aunt Doris & Uncle Len are two of the very few remaining of the previous generation. All those "young folks" I'd been scanning weren't US... they were the kids and grandkids of US!!

So I had to backtrack and look closely at the faces of all those gray heads, feeling like an idjit girl.

Merme *often forgetting she's 53*

Hi all,
Must have been a busy day for everyone.... ended up going to Wallmart with my oldest and her son and his girlfriend... ran into Joseph's girlfriend and her mom and little sisters... she is a sweet girl ....
I know all about the books piling up Merme-- I get paperbacks 5-6 at a time and end up with a bunch of them- I usually put them in a box and send them to work with Joe- let them take their choce and then we donate them to the library - they either put them in the stacks or sell them at their yearly sales ....
Yes Tina my oatmeal is yummy and really good on these cold mornings,,, hits the spot and keeps me warm .... helps the cholesterol and blood pressure too...

Well I have to get out the iron... and fold rest of laundry .... sure is a lot less with just us....

Well, Maxi is completely packed up to leave in the morning. He's showered and has been in bed an hour. His favorite Hoodie is in the dryer, so everything is all set!

It is going to be weird this week without him here! boohoo

But he has decided on a nice sleepover for Halloween. He's invited not only Tyr, his out-of-town friend, but also Dominic, his buddy down the street. So they will go out for trick or treat and then come back here and probably stay up half the night watching movies from their sleeping bags in the living room.

Nana isn't it amazing how books stack up? I'm only keeping a few books from each author I like, hoping to gain more in the different series. Since I'm not doing the shopping, it could be some time between the next installment. Some books I know I will not ever read... by Jackie Collins, Nora Roberts or Koonz, so I just box them up immediately. Even so, just from what I've read and want to pass on, the box is pretty big!!

Well, I don't want to be up too late, so I'm off for tonight.

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart?
The other heart was given to another for us to find.
