Thanks Carol - someone had posted it on the knitting forums.

Did I ever tell the story of when my daughter was 12 and we were in St. Thomas for Don's nephew's wedding? She just loved all the large iguanas that were lazing around the poolside bar, looking for treats. On the last day of our trip, a bartender gave her a cherry to feed to an iguana. She was so excited, and immediately fed one - he ate it with vigor and then proceeded to bite her finger - through the skin! You see... she had RED nailpolish on, and he thought it was another cherry!

She has been traumatized ever since and will not even look at iguanas or lizards anymore. Poor thing! egad

I had an Iguana for a few months. They are surprisingly affectionate and friendly, with a LOT of personality. And best of all, they are vegetarian, so you DON'T have to feed them living creatures or messy meats. Mine LOVED canned carrot cubes, peas, and diced peaches!
