Good Morning ,, Off to work I go!

We got quite a bit of rain last night. I was surprised it warmed up enough throughout the day to actually rain because in the morning we were still below 10 degrees! But the rain is laying on all the hardpack, making it all a nice skating rink and lots of fog....

Today is a busy day so I'll be in and out.

It is snowing here, but I odnt think it wlll begin to amount to anything until say wednesday night.

I am still Grandpuppy sitting. "mom" will be back to pick them up tonight.

We are having torrential rain and high winds today. Very early this morning, the accidents started, and we were without power for over 3 hours - BORING! It's back now, so I'm taking advantage and catching up on my computer stuff. I've just about finished knitting the foot stool, and now need to find something to stuff it with - the pattern was written in Norway and the person used feather comforters (she calls them duvets), but when I looked up the Ikea catalogue, which is where she purchased them from, the least expensive one was $30. and she used 2!!! I am NOT going to spend that kind of money on something that cost me about $6 in yarn to make!!! So I will have to start looking around in stores to see what else I can use to stuff this monster with!!! I would take it to the foam store, but our house is so very dry, that I'm afraid it would dry out and crumble pretty quickly.

Well I had boys early... gave them breakfast- Derek didn't eat much but acted okay so thought ok he is just not hungry... 20 min after I took them to school they call- he is upchucking all over.... oh goody!
so off we go and got him home- then Nicoli starts with it too- so we changed clothes again- called Carrie and told her she had two of them down... she took off from work and came and got them... so far the other two are okay... at least no calls from school .... now I have cleaned both my bathrooms... ran my dishwasher on sanitize and hope if it's a bug I don't get it too.....is it Fri yet!
Oh well --- off to run my vacuum and see what I can figure out for dinner..... fish or chicken.... hmmmmmmmmm.

Don't know what I will wear to Rachel's wedding, but I'm looking for something along the lines of what Lady Gaga might wear...so, yes. it will be a hooker dress!

I bought 6 freakin' "Bridal" magazines at the store....
...I want them to hurry up and do this before they change their minds.
I am wanting to be a "mother-in-law" sooooooo bad.

Jeremy is lucky I like him....Rachel's last two boyfriends before Jeremy got to witness "The Wrath of Cindy" come down upon them. It wasn't pretty and I can't say here what I did...

You shoukld consider using Batting to fill the stool with. The only other thing I can think of would be nymons & that would niot be smooth.

Another alternative, I guess, is that you could buy some cheap feather pillows.
You know, the ones from Wal-mart that are actually the outer feathers or duck feathers.--NO Down in the type I am speaking of. or just some cheap pillows of any type??

Well if you like him, then I am sure he is good for Rachel--and THAT is the bottom line. But hey, perhaps it'll keep him in line???

No.....Rachel said in the spring or summer...when it's warm.
My opinion is...NOW. I want to buy stuff NOW.
I am trying to talk Rachel into a Vera Wang, she wants something "simple but elegant"....

She's gonna flip when I tell her I am buying my "outfit" from the "Haus of Gaga"...
Well...she probably expects no less from me...

Well, Cindy---I thionk rachel knows yo well enough by now that whatever you wear will be just fine wi th her---well you might want to consult her to see if the color matters. Just a notion.


as far as buying stuff NOW well, it is good to buy early, so things are not so crazy later. But, I am here to tell ya you will be smaller the later it is. so whatever you buy do not have it altered untl the last possible moment. ALSO make sure whatever you do buy CAN be altered should the need arrise.

Oh this is so great---can I live vicariously thru you ?? I love a good wedding !!!!!

I was just looking at one of the Bridal magazines and I noticed on the front it was $9.99.
It was the cheapest one!!!!!
...holy mother of Elvis, it's been a long time since I bought a magazine.
I thought they were like 3 or 4 bucks or something.

Well...there went Rachel's fancy dress!

nope mom you get to take that magazione $$$ out of the grocery budget--Rachel gets her dress

Rachel about [bleep] when I told her I bought all those magazines...I bet she thinks I'm getting a little too excited.

She sent me a pic of a dress she liked...it was "simple but elegant"...I told her she needed to "gaga" it out a bit.

Remind her that sometimes what seems "simple and elegant" in a magazine or even in the store can look more like a nightgown or a full length slip when it is on. She's gotta try stuff on and see...


I love Bride's magazines! They are so fun!

I agree with waht Merme said about trying dresses on before one actually knows how they will look in them--but having said that:


My mom, sister, my cousin & my MIL to be, all liked me in this fru-fru dress. and yes it was pretty & I looked like a china doll in it---but---

I got a simple princess style one with cotton lace inserts.

sometimes ya just like what ya like.

and BTW: My oldest DD could not fit into my dress when she got married, I asked her if she wanted to wear it, but it was too small.--My how is wish I was that small now--

You are so right, Carol... going with what suits you is important!

I watch that Say Yes To The Dress show all the time and you can just tell by the expression on her face when a bride puts the wrong dress on. And oh man, how she lights up when she sees herself in one that suits!


When my nephew got married about five years ago, his bride to be planned to wear a full length (dragging behind her) lace veil that five generations of women in her family had worn.

It wasn't bright white or "snow" white, but was a pretty ivory. So, she got the dress to match the veil and then planned the wedding colors accordingly. The veil also sorta dictated what style of dress to wear as not every style would have looked equally nice with that particular veil.

I would have LOVED to be able to do such a thing as that, Merme. To have such a tradition to one's wedding---that is lovely.

I love that show,, "Say yes to the dress" The Mothers and IN laws that go with the Bride to be,, crack me up,, they seem to forget it's the Brides Choice of dress not theirs.

Where I'm from, a sprig of living ivy (with a few little roots) are tucked into the bride's bouquet. She sticks it in water on her wedding day (or her mom does) and then later plants it. She will always have a living plant from her wedding day, that image of a "vine covered cottage with the white picket fence".

Oh I know, Di, sometimes the people who come with the bride are awfully bossy and rude!

Well, the kid got his homework done and has had his shower and now I'm trying to propel him toward bed. He is ever reluctant to go now that he is a teen!

I had a very difficult night and didn't get to sleep til around 5 so of course I didn't get up with the alarm at 6 so of course Maxi missed the bus...

I spent the night getting in and out of bed due to back pain and then having low blood sugar and needing to eat. What a night! I am exhausted and have so much to do today.

Diane, my girl took Maxi to school when she arrived so he wasn't too terribly late.
