Nope Dodge I make too much for the guidlines and I don't have any dependent children to help me qualify... Tomorrow I will look at The Woman's resources there has got to be a way to get these meds Contact the drug companies direct,-- or thru the pharmacy???-- one sees on the advertisements all the time--how such & such company may be able to help you obtain your medications if you cannot afford them. At least on the commericals here it says that. please take it easy at home, and if/when at work, take care there as well. :ding:

Oh Diane, I am so sorry for the med issue....I've seen people here quit their jobs and go on social assistance because their med cost was higher than their take home pay. Praying you find a way to get coverage

Here they use 'warfarin' if they can't afford the more expensive meds...or you an go to the hospital or clinic for 'coumidin' shots. I guess warfarin' is like our generic drugs. supposedly the same thing but cheaper versions? A Dr once told me that some generics were the same & some were half strength. As an example: it would take say 2 courses of the generic antibiotics to cure an infection, where it would only take 1 course of the brand name. of course that was back when one could say they wanted the brand name & their insurance companies would pay for it. Now, with our insurance anyway, if there is a generic made, we HAVE to take it or pay the difference. I for one do not have that kind of money---

oh I am so sorry---but at least you can get the 3.
I would call teh Dr & say I need sopme help with obtaining this drug. it cannt hurt to try.
I was just at my endocrinologist and she wanted me to take a new drug for my bones. it's cost was $800.00 a month. Even when Rod is working we don't have that kind of money, and with this being so expensive the insurance would only pay like 25%. So, she offered to give me samples. But I told her I wanted to wait until next year. It is new I would like to hear more about it.
but my point is the Drs may be able to help you. if nothing else it would be a good place to start. He may also be able to help you find a secondary place to go if he cannot help you long term.

I saw that on TV Dodge. But thanks for letting me know, That would be sep good i f I had not of seen it. But as I was just at my Drs (and she is theClinical Director of the Bone health Program in St Louis, and an associater professor I am hopeful that she is aware of all of this. She did want me to use another type of bone builder as I said above.
and oh I have gone off of treatment for 18 months in the past to give my body a rest from it.

You can ask the social worker associated with your doctor's office to contact the pharmaceutical company that makes Plavix & ask them to donate the prescription on your behalf to the doctor's office. It will go to him w/ your name on it & you'll have to go there to pick it up. Yes, Plavix is expensive but it is a very very important medication.... I've been on it for years, and expect to have to take it the rest of my life. Also be sure to mention to your cardiologist if you have the need to take a drug such as Prilosec or Nexium as they can't be taken w/ Plavix as they render Plavix far less effective. So far as my cardiologist recommends, Zantac is the best choice for a Plavix user.

Praise God,, Catholic social services took care of 4 Rx's for a 3 month supply, total cost $1,123.89. I took care of 3 other rx's that I could afford up front< But I only got a month supply But that's okay I can still afford those next month. I'm not one to easily take charity, But with my health at risk with out the meds, pride got tucked in my back pocket with a hard swallow, and I gratefully accepted. By the time a month is up I will have prescription Insurance that accepts all 7 rx's with an affordable co pay Today when I talked to the Dr, He sat down and explained everything to me, as he does once a first time heart attack patient w/ emergency stent is in his care, He doesn't tell it all at the hospital due to keeping more anxiety at bay. Anyway,, He said I have/had a 95% occluded left main coronary artery and that I was lucky to be sitting in the chair across from him. Women don't recognize signs But I told Him I knew My Body and knew something was wayyyyy wrong. He said He's had many patients wait for the pain/pressure to go away wait for a couple of more days then go see a dr, creating even more tissue damage and some didn't live to tell about it, sad to say. He also told me He told Dwight and Jasmine that in the hospital as soon as he saw where and How much the blockage I had ~ he went to the surgery waiting room and told them everything BUT they didn't tell me not even later after I got home,( as they were instructed not to ~again to not cause anxiety.) I find it hard to believe they both kept their mouths shut even after I came home, I guess this was a wake up call for them as well. Today was the first day since last Sunday I have really REALLY craved a cigg, But I drank a glass of ice water when ever I had that craving,, Let's just say my kidneys got an excellent flushing today I'm proud of my self I didn't give in to the craving,, ONE hour at a time One glass of cold water at a time,, right?? Anyway I'm good for 3 months on the Rx's ~ God Does Provide a way If he plans on letting you stay around for a while

Diane, it's not charity. It's a way the people working there get a blessing by doing a good thing.
Does your doctors office have a social worker or something like that. Someone named Bridgett calls us from one of Johnny's doctors all the time asking if he has insurance and telling us that there are programs where he can get his medicines for a discount or for free. He has insurance so we haven't needed that blessing yet but maybe your doctors practice has that too.

Thanks Dodge and Sheri < Prayers does work even in my case I won't disappoint Him You can believe that! Sheri My dr's assistance found me a prescription Insurance that covers those meds. I applied and got approved, she is also doing paper work with two of the pharmaceutical companies. One the other day I didn't qualify for but she said there are more options regardless If I'm getting RX insurance it never hurts to have a back up. So while I'm okay for now resources are still being researched "Carol" at my Heart Dr's office is awesome, she is really helping in the most generous of ways with her time she is putting into it! yes I was truely Blessed to have CSS to help out, They will be blessed back 10 fold for sure! BTW IF I didn't do this before I want to thank each you that showed concern through your Prayers, your worry, sending good thoughts and spoken support. :ding: I truly am Blessed with some Life Long friends here Merme Thanks for the conversations we had at the hospital and you sincere concern and the Info you gave me today,, You should work as a Pharmacy consultant for heart patients and their meds, You gave me some tips the pharmacists didn't give me thank YOU Lynne thank YOU for the conversations we had while I was in the hospital and thanks for the few laughs you helped me muster up through out it all. 3s and Jimmy ! thank you for the use of your mini notebook, your daily visits, your constant support, and for the Beautiful Potted Carolina Jasmine you brought up to me thank you Thank YOU Bill it was awesome to talk to you after I came home, I sure Miss talking to you My Friend I'm Glad I got to talk with Cindy, it's good to know Friends give back support when given to them . Love ya Cindy and Miss you

Diane - I'm so glad you got the assistance you are needing and that Carol in your doctor's office is so very helpful. I'm also glad that Dwight and Jasmine were able to follow the dr's orders so as not to upset you even further. The doctor was absolutely correct - you didn't need more to raise your blood pressure under those conditions.
I'm so glad you got a doctor you can relate to and one who is careful with his care for you. I hope you continue to progress as well as you are doing, and I, too, am very proud for every cigarette that you do NOT smoke! Cold water is a very good thing - it will help keep the weight down as well.
And just think of all the plants you can buy or meds with the money you save!

Thanks Lynne and Cheryl While I was in the hospital and still on morphine, evidently I took pictures with my Cell Phone but I truly don't remember doing it. I was going through my cell phone today deleting stuff and ran upon some pictures and a voice recording, Someone else MAY have taken the pictures But I sure am talking to Tre in a voice recording, I don't even remember the conversation at all . I did my best thru editing to make the pictures as clear as I could. The first picture .., Tre' and Jasmine wrote on the "eraser board" in my room while I was in surgery, wish I could have taken that home But at least I have a picture of it :ding:
here is Jasmine, Tre and Breyton .I Don't know Who took this picture
and here is Me talking with Tre,, I sure don't remember this,, You may have to turn up your volume to hear it
