It seems to be working now and then, but only sometimes.... when it wants to.
It will allow you to post sometimes too!

Well, the problem is that the shoutbox doesn't support Multibyte Characters, and when one is used it shuts down...

I added some code in the control panel to make it so it can be easily cleared next time it happens.

UBB.Threads v8 should make this a non issue.. when its out that is lol...

I had to look up multibyte characters. But it kept going on about Japanese and Chinese characters. Was someone using those languages? Or does that include something else? Like when people use weird shapes to make pictures that aren't on a normal keyboard?

I learn so much every time I start researching computer questions I have. I just wish I could retain it all.

It's not just foreign languages, just characters that are non-latin based (some of which can be various punctuation or weird little art/smilies that people post)

I was wondering if my way of posting the smilies there had a hand in messing it up. I would post a wanted smilie in full reply somewhere on the forum and cut/paste it to the shout box. I cannot remember those smiley codes for anything.

That won't hurt anything, otherwise I would have been in big trouble a long time ago! notme
