thank you. And easy to grow. I don't fertilize, water or spray (except for thrips last year).

So happy that you have flowers Tamara!!!

I've had a small bleeding heart for 3 years now - it's in the shade under my white birch tree, and doesn't grow at all. Each spring it's just a tiny mound and this year I have been graced with TWO flowers! That's it! I love those plants - why won't mine do well for me?

My lace bleeding heart is in full sun...it was one of those mystery $1 plants that I got in late fall. I never moved it when i found out what it was. I have regular bleeding hearts in full sun also...but full sun here doesn't have the high temps that you all get either.

Not sure Lynne, they love the cold for dormancy and it gets cold where you are.

that sounds promising, Tamara but I am thinking that your full sun is not as hot as my full sun is. ?? what ya think ?

I am guessing that my bleeding heart growing must wait a few years until I have a tree or such that is large enough to offer some sort of shade. why

yea I was afraid of that. But then my sun "here" is much hotter than it was out at the farm---I am thiniing with no trees here there is nothing to 'soften' the heat at all.

so l ike I say some year when I haver some semblence of shade THEN I will see about some lace bleeding heart buying--

So pretty Diane and Sheri!!!

I didn't get a picture of my first clematis this year - I hope the rain doesn't knock all the petals off tomorrow before I get to take one.

Sheri - your gardenias must smell heavenly!!! I LOVE that scent. Wish I could grow some outdoors - they are short lived indoors here and usually get bugs. The flowers we get are different from yours though - they are fuller and don't look as flat as in your picture with defined petals.

I have some August Beauty gardenias in the front of the house that have different type flowers and are bigger bushes. They smell the same though. We don't have a problem with bugs on our gardenias. The leaves turn yellow sometimes and I put Epsom Salts around them. I love them.
