I've had a small bleeding heart for 3 years now - it's in the shade under my white birch tree, and doesn't grow at all. Each spring it's just a tiny mound and this year I have been graced with TWO flowers! That's it! I love those plants - why won't mine do well for me?

I never moved it when i found out what it was. I have regular bleeding hearts in full sun also...but full sun here doesn't have the high temps that you all get either. Not sure Lynne, they love the cold for dormancy and it gets cold where you are. ~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.

I didn't get a picture of my first clematis this year - I hope the rain doesn't knock all the petals off tomorrow before I get to take one. Sheri - your gardenias must smell heavenly!!! I LOVE that scent. Wish I could grow some outdoors - they are short lived indoors here and usually get bugs. The flowers we get are different from yours though - they are fuller and don't look as flat as in your picture with defined petals.

They smell the same though. We don't have a problem with bugs on our gardenias. The leaves turn yellow sometimes and I put Epsom Salts around them. I love them.
