It is so cold in here today, I am wrapped up in a blanket! We need a big dose of sunshine to warm this place up!

I'm so glad it is Friday. Last day this week to push hard. Tomorrow I'm free and easy. YAY!

Well the retirement party lasted a while. We only ate very late..needless to say I never slept. Between being so over tired and a full meal at 9 p.m.

Snow flurries today...can someone send me some spring?

It's cold and damp here too, the fire keeps it warm but the dampness just lingers in the air.

Have anything fun planned for the week end Merme?

This Sunday we are going to breakfast at our old church. It will be good to see our friends again.

Tomorrow I am going to s-l-e-e-p!

I have a busy week end ahead..painting old farm machinery. I told DH pretty soon all that stuff is just gonna be paint...the rust is losing the battle

It's a never ending job Merme. Our equipment is so old..most things need a horse to use

I promised my cardiac surgeon that I would find a violin teacher for his twin daughters, age 8. So today I am on the Great Violin Teacher Hunt!

Then, off to dialysis.

I am home for another few minutes... got Nicoli to take to school- Carrie went to doc.. listened to Mom... has bronchitis, upper resp infection, and walking pneaumonia(sp).. she is now home resting... is off work till Sun and not then if she can't breathe... good thing she has sick pay...
We are getting estimates on taking down our tree... 1300 seems to be the going price.. but one guy will give us 25% off so he just may get our business... one more estimate to come...
Well off to feed Nicoli and then we will go to school...

Hope your DD feels better soon, a lot of pneumonia cases here also.

I've been trying to paint farm equipment, between the rain and the cold...it's not working out very well. I've given up for the day.

It's windy here today- makes it even colder than it really is- cloudy too- rain the rest of the week they say.. yes tree is about twice as tall as the 2 story part of my house... it was here long before house and it was built in 1977...about a three ft around trunk at the base...
Painting when it is cold is no fun... I hope you have some inside stuff you can do instead..

Nana sorry to hear about Carrie. I hope she feels better soon.

I agree with Tamara that is a lot of money for felling a tree, but then with insurance & all to pay perhaps it is not such a bad deal. I know several years ago some friernds of mine paid $800.00 for one tree.
My dad & his friends used to do that for people & then take the wood for heat--

Everyone, we have more bad weather coming our way. Possible storms & tonados.

So I think I will bid you all goodnight & go and finish supper so we can eat before anything comes our way. If it blows over I will return.

Thanks Carol.. I hope Carrie shakes this too... she gets so rundown- doing for everyone else... she doesn't get a lot of help with boys from her hubby due to his hours and works 40+ hours a week... lots of running for her...

I just picked up the boys .. nice to be able to do that for her again... they will spend the night again tonight so she doesn't have to deal with them... they expected to anyway so this way she can rest and not worry about them... I put 2 4 lb roasts in the oven earlier with taters and carrots.. will send some to her with Joe when he gets home so they can eat... Joseph is going to stay there tonight.. just in case she needs him...
It is really cold right now-- was spitting snow when I want after the boys... our high was 45 and is dropping rapidly now... brrrrrrr.... when is it supposed to be warm again... ?

Apparently the storm is moving more slowly that originally thought. we are under a warning/watch until 10pm. all is quiet now, so I am back.

Supper is over & dishes are all done except for ice cream bowls.

Hi everyone! Today I slept in until almost 11! Then I made some coffee, started some laundry, and went for a run. Boy did I ever need to do that. Then, we went to the girls school, gave Ashley her phone and then she ran off with a friend, we wont' be seeing her until late tonight because she's going to the Mariner's game with a friend. We gave Mandy a ride home, made a grocery list, and now Joey is home. Pretty soon we'll head out to get dinner and do grocery shopping. We'll probably watch a movie tonight.

We just finished supper. Maxi is having a friend sleep over.

I stretched out on the floor to watch TV because my neck was hurting so bad I couldn't sit up any more. I fell deeply asleep & woke up cold & hungry! Made some hot coffee, cut some fresh bread and made a few important phone calls. Now I feel a million percent better!


Anyone still here?

I have been running and very busy with busy work. I am honestly thinking of taking a part of the day off tomorrow and taking a little road trip with Teddy.
bUt mean time I am tired so good night all.

Today I am recovering from the hard week just passed.

Maxi is upset now. His dad just called. They are coming down to pick up a DS game from Maxi for the other son. They never have gas money to come down and see Maxi but they are coming to get the game for DJ. So he is upset.

I said they are probably multi-tasking, combining the stop here with other stops but Maxi isn't believing that too well.


Gee the coffee is good this morning.

We have to print out and review the flyer we made for the fundraising. I think it is pretty good. I will take it with me tomorrow when I speak at the church. Maxi will take his Gold Medal along and wear it so the people can see.

sorry about Maxi's being upset----youy are a wise mom to try to explain away his anxietys.

I am having to do without coffee this morning---Rod did not make any and I do not want to drink a whole pot myself, so I had 1 cup of tea

Too bad you couldn't have made a partial pot of coffee for yourself, Carol. I often do not make a whole pot even though I just have a small one.

I am relieved that the first stop on our tour of presentations is before a crowd of people who love Maxi and watched him grow up from a little one. The ones who already know of his win are so proud! So that makes it easier. Our next presentation is before people who know us less well and that is always a bit harder!

I thought of doing that or getting out my small coffee maker--but this was jsut simpler.

Good morning! I'm going to start breakfast here in a few. Yes, a late breakfast but that's usually the case with us on the weekend. I'm making eggs benedict today, one of our favorites. Too bad I stupidly threw away the last of my bread before I realized that I needed a couple more slices. Oh well, I'll just put the eggs on the hashbrowns and pour some hollandaise on it. Good enough. I've gained so much weight since last winter that I'm re-doing my diet and cutting out the bad stuff. You'd think the running would help me lose weight but maybe that's only true when your running more than 8-10 miles per week. Catch you all later. Carol, have fun at the nursery! Merme, hope you get lots of rest today and the Maxi feels better too.

I too have thrown away the last bits of bread and later wished I hadn't!

My adult nephew started running a year or so ago and just completed the 3 month training for his first marathon on Sunday. He is now at an all time great trim & fit.

Lean & mean. His mom tells me he looks great!

So keep running!

Maxi's dad stopped by and they all visited a while. Now Maxi feels better.

I got 25 copies of our flyer. Now I am trying to figure out how to post it so y'all can see.

Cheryl. I imagine that you have not gained fat--you have gained muscle, and unfortunately it weighs something too. the more you cut out the less your body is going to get by on---until you will have to just about eat nothing to lose any weight---I would research a bit before I cut out any more foods if i were you.


I know from my going to weight watchers, that your body can reach a point where if you eat less it uses less. you need to review what you are eating & perhaps eat more of the healthy stuff, esp when it comes to breakfast. & then no late (after 7pm )eating
