I had some of my youongerst DD's homemade apple wine tonight---it was STRONG!!!!
I had to cut it with some simple syrup.

My BadBrother has a keg of homemade wine going at all times.
...he lives in a "dry" county and doesn't have the privilege of driving...so he has to make his own.

well, sometimes ya gotta do waht ya gotta do, huh??

I've never tasted it...and now I am wondering WHY I have never tasted it.

...actually, I remember why I didnt taste it the other day when I was there...it was sitting too close to my brother's pet snapping turtle (Steve), and I am scared of Steve.
My brother has had him since he was just a pup...he's 6 years old now.

anyway I have another busy day today---
ceramics, visiting mom & dad, cleaning church---& then getting the house ready for my DD's puppy Beowulf, who is coming tonight to stay the month again.

I was up at 5:30 am and threw a turkey in the oven..(DD's orders )smells so good in here..yum....

hello everyone--well I am back f orm all of my "away from home chores" now to start in here.....

I am finished with all of the running around I had to get done today. I am really tired. A day of busy here and there running around. It did me in.

I have a busy day tomorrow, we put all the baby stuff at my mothers. We have to go tomorrow and sort it all out, wash all the clothes...then pack it in boxes to take down with DD next week.

Morning all,
I slept late- Joe got up and did the kids running- we have Nicoli till noon then he will go to- going to go do some running this morning- need to get some new kid chairs for the yard.. stuff for a memorial day get together with kids... doing it Sunday.. hopefully they can all get here..
My son says her has the bug now but not as bad as the boys had it.. JR is now home and doing okay. nice cause today is graduation from preschool for them... Nicoli's is Tues.. then school will finally be out for us .. had to make up snow days..
I am planning stuff for our mini get away to Estes... decided I am taking paper plates and plasic silverware this time so no dishes will be done- and precooking the food and taking the mini crock too for cooking- less dishwashing to do more vacation time... want to take more walks and enjoy the outdoors..after all the surgery and recovery time I want to relax...

Well off to the shower, got to go to ACE for the chairs and whatever else I can find- they have a mini gift shop in there... always find neat stuff there...

Went for a few groceries today...now I'm washing baby clothes

11 pm and I'm still up...wish American Idol was over sooner.

When you're gone for a while, and then go back and read, it looks like a lot of us spend a lot of time complaining about the weather (myself included). Which is as it should be. It's the one thing we can rightfully just complain about. Can't change it. But it sure does feel good to complain.

I hope it gets warmer/cooler, wetter/dryer for everyone. Here it was super hot (94/ heat index over 100) for a couple of days, but now it's back in the 80s, not so humid.

So-- here's the company update. Mom & brother Mike take off tomorrow. It's been a good visit. It's worth noting that I now know how to plant tomatoes. [Please reference my one zillion posts on tomatoes here, 'cause apparently I didn't know how to start tomatoes from seed, and then properly plant the seedlings until yesterday. So you can just disregard the 100s, nay , 1000s of pieces of advise I've given newbies. I wasn't doin' it right. Mind you, what I was doing was exactly what Mom was doing, ... Go figure.]

An excellent visit. Mom likes it here. In her mind, she has positioned more bookshelves, rearranged some furniture, and suggested a way to deal with the drainage issues. She shared her thoughts with me. Mikey did a bunch of chain saw work. I think he had a really good time. What guy doesn't like chainsawing?

HA! Funniest thing: Mike says, "Do you always eat like this?" To which we honestly reply, "Yes."

I am officially burnt out on company. But I am happy Mom likes it. In the very most practical sense, Mom will eventually need to think about her future. And that she has now seen the Farm means that she's seen another option.

Talk later. I am tired.

Marica glad that you have enjoyed your company but glad for you it is drawing to a close. So glad that you have a home big enough to accomodate your mother should it come to that.

Hi everybody even if most of you are already in bed!

I had quite a day today and I was too done in to come & visit in CH earlier. But I've rested, made some coffee, and am perking up.

It is finally cooling off, too.

Dunno why, but we had a heat wave for three days.... 93 to 95 degrees! Remember this is MAINE we are talking about, in MAY, where temps usually are in the upper 60's around this time. And yet we climbed well over 90 and everybody about melted. Then tonight, the temperature dropped. It just plain plunged. Now the air is sweet & breathable again. YAY!

Has anyone see dodge? Did she say she was going on vacation?

I did not see anywhere where Dodge announced plans. I hope all is well with her.

I haven't seen her around the past couple of days. Maybe her internet is on the blink.

oh my hopefully they are just busy with the farm.....

DH is gone so I think I will lay around & do nothing now---

Today is my youngest's Anniversary and she got to Bahrain, where her DH is stationed, about 90 minutes ago. So they will get to spend a very few hours topgether on the actual Day, but will get to spend a month together---so that ought to make up for the Anniversary beginning a bit late....
