Yup, it'll be slugs..you can buy slug traps at the dollar store.

Also some people lay a roll of copper around the rim of their plant, slugs won't cross copper why

if you met him which is a lovely idea, he would be funny, charming & would say not one thing wrong. you would l;ike him I am sure. but to me, he says what he wants & when, ya know??/

but honestly if I gave him a good reason of why I wanted the copper, he would likley give it to me, but me just take & use it, not a good idea.

Sure looks like cleome to me. I dug up some babies that sprouted this year on the walk to my driveway - odd thing is I haven't had plants near there for at least 2 summers now - those seeds kept for that long - wow! I potted them up for my deck - haven't grown them in a pot yet. The first 2 days they wilted, but now they are looking nice and firm and upright! Go CLEOME!

Carol - your second hosta - June Hosta is GORGEOUS!
Very nice pictures!

Look Everyone !!!..... I took this picture the other day, & forgot to post it. blush
This is a purple coneflower that I have kept going since my 30 yr old DD was 15. I even made sure I had starts when we moved.

She brought starts home from a nursery that she was working at---saved them from the compost pile. lol

I was so afraid that they had died out last year, nervous but nope--they were just slow to come back. I will be sure to save seed from this bunch in the fall, for in case they do die out in the future.

flowers-6-30-10002.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>

here is the first bloom this year for my gaillardia from years past: It is teh one that was yellow-goblin-turned burgundy--turned this. why Or was it the other way around???
(now I hope some of the ones still in buds are my oranges & lemons)

flowers-6-30-10008.jpg" alt="[Linked Image]" class="post-image" style="height:auto!important;max-width:100%!important;"/>

This is a photo of what "was" some purple and white coneflowers that lynne sent me--well some are purple but then these seem to be a " light pink"--so I am assuming that my white starts got cross polinated with the purple??????
