We had a torrential rain yesterday. It buried my carrots in mud that washed away from my potato mounds leaving roots exposed. My squash was knocked flat - wilted? My herbs and beets were crushed. I got to see my second batch of salad germinating first hand. Everything else was old enough that it was ok. It was a bad day for gardening here in MI!!

I got right back to work. Uncovering carrots and covering the roots back up. Things looked better today.

I hope I did the right things. My garden was doing perfect up until yesterday. I guess that is why they call it gardening and not shopping for produce grown in Brazil

Sounds like you have things under control, frustrating though isn't it?

If I ever had a good gardening season I'd be shocked haha

Tamara it was very frustrating!!! I am a firm believer in the if it dont kill ya it makes ya stronger (or smarter) philosophy

Sounds like us on the west got the brunt of it. We got about 5" in about 2 hours. We are supposed to have another storm tomorrow. Snow you are in the Detroit area?? I planted 2nd batch of peas and beans yesterday ( I germinated them inside which worked well. They did not get uncovered - I hope they didnt wash away.

Flint area..
They did get some nasty stuff up by midland/saginaw area , heavy rain with flooding and down trees.

We were watching the west side as it was coming in , they did get hammered out that way.

Hope these ones this wk are not down pours and just some nice rain for the gardens....atleast it will be cooler ...after last wk I could use some SNOW! neener grin , Just finished a deck job in that 90 degree blistering heat egad .

It's been raining steady here..it's a fight to get the grass cut.

We only plant our gardens here the middle of June, one good thing is the rain has been keeping the frost away. thumbup

The temps have been cool, highs of 60*F..we harvest in late fall(well we try too)
Our garden season only runs from the middle of June into August(and that's in a good year lol )

NB is in the North East along the Atlantic ocean, part of the maritimes with PEI, NFLD and NS.
