yea I agree with Tamara, John could have just sent some well placed rain---

it is good that you are taking care of yourself.

More care is always better than not enough after all.

Ya it's late..DH is giving DD a lecture about her 'loser boyfriend' he seemed to be doing well but apparently while she has been here he partied his whole paycheck and never paid power, phone, cable or bought groceries.

Ya well the $50 I'm sending her home with ain't gonna help him...he thought we were giving her more money...nope lesson learned.

sure is a lesson learned,-- but I am hoping it is one that she learned.--while it would be nice for her if he did the learning, my focus right now is on her--so I hope she hears whatever her daddy is saying. I am glad she has her parents.

Sorry Tamara, hope she learns sooner rather than later.

I came home from race today, took a shower, made breakfast, then crashed. I was so beat I couldn't even keep my eyes open. So I took a little nap and when I woke up I went to the store, did some laundry, and made dinner. Now I'm beat again, lol I'm a little stiff and sore but I ran faster than I've ever ran so that's to be expected. Other than that I feel great and am pretty proud of my performance today. Tomorrow it's back to work again. Only a four day work week this week, my favorite weeks.

flwr Congratulations, Cheryl!! flwr

I know you were really looking forward to this race & I'm so proud of you for accomplishing it ... and so much faster, too! Great job, my speedy friend.

Maxi's school goes through the 17th, with the 8th graders graduating on the 16th. Maxi will miss all the hoopla because we'll be in Washington, but he doesn't care at all.

The storm brought lots of cold air through but it is still somehow weirdly humid. I'm glad for the a/c tonight.

The church "picnic" had to be held indoors, in the Lower Parish Hall, and the grills were set up under the pavilion just outside the Lower Hall doors. It was over fairly quickly, though; no one stayed long.

One of our church families has three young daughters, a set of twins, age 5, and then a 4 year old. They all look so MUCH alike, it is amazing. And, they are really quite social and talkative. And they like me, so the come around to talk. One of the twins tends to blab private family business & tell things in great detail and I'm sure her mom would rather she edit herself. I just chuckle & change the subject.

Today they were full of a million questions about my prosthetic and really had quite an interested, joyful approach to the topic. One of the twins, when they were discussing how I could walk with a "fake leg" and not able to feel my foot squatted down on one knee & the opposite foot and asked me if it felt like walking like this? and proceeded to "walk" on a foot & a knee. I cracked up and so did the other adults present. Once I stopped laughing, I assured her no, it didn't feel like that at all!

Kids are the best.

Gotta get to bed, it is 1 AM and I have promised myself to start getting to bed earlier. Tonight I am keeping that promise by an entire hour!

If someone would ever turn the lights down in here and not make it so welcoming, I'd probably do better. But then again, maybe not, as I can type in the dark.

lol

wavy Safe Away Home, Everybody! Sweet dreams to you all!!

Morning Tina and Merme, I hope her trip goes well also...a 4 and a half hour bus drive when you are 7 months pregnant isn't the nicest.

I have a busy day also(inside work) but will pop in and out all day if I can. And I'll be waiting for your sun grin

I watched part of a reality TV show yesterday called "Dad Camp" about 6 couples. The girls/women ranged in ages from 18-30 and were all pregnant without the benefit of marriage and wanted their men to change. 4 out of the 6 men didn't even work and these pregnant women were supporting them. The men were spending the women's money on video games, beer and boys night out and the women were left to try to pay the bills. These people were black, white, Hispanic and American. All these women were on the show hoping their boyfriends would change because they "LOVE" them and want to have a happy family. The longest together couple was 4 years, the least was 6 months - she got pregnant the 3rd day after they met. They interviewed the guys alone and not one of them had plans to stay with the woman, even though the working ones said they'd take care of their child financially. The ones not working said they'd stay as long as the money was there and then move on. I couldn't watch anymore but I can't imagine that "Dad Camp" changed them. What is wrong with women who will hook up with someone who obviously doesn't care anything about them.

Good Morning. It is actually a bit cooler today---I wish I had enough "dry" time to do some painting. My deck is long o ver due for a coat o f weather treatment--and I need to put polyurethane or outdoor paint (can't decide which) on the flat surfaces of my work bench for my garden supplies, in the garage.

other than that I need to finish the yearly restoring of my landscaping this week.
Next Sunday we are going to have a BBQ with parents & my DD & her boyfriend. I would like all of my flowers to look nice for it.
Garden is already in good shape well except for the asparagus. It needs weeding badly--shame on me. But as we are concidering building up the whole area, I may have to replant it in the fall anyway. why

They are young..and the men treat them well and care for them until they are 'caught' in a situation they don't really want. Mind you I know of women who are older, more mature, married and find themselves in the same situation anyway.

Carol, the weather is awful everywhere it seems. I am so behind on outdoor work, the shed here needs to be painted also..gonna be a long wait until it does.

A BBQ sounds lovely..just throw a blanket over the weeds..lol Make that the picnic area.

Good to hear...

I must go deal with my laundry...DH kept telling me to wait a few days so I could hang it out. Well there is no sun in sight and it is driving me nuts so I'm washing it all...take that on the power bill lol

thanks for all the well wishes for my BBQ. I guess I will not know until the last minute about the weather. But then it is gonna do what it is gonna do anyway, huh??
I may have to "BBQ" in the oven on Sunday, lol but I guess that is ok too.

I think I will try to buy some mulch today & do what I can tonight.
I think the rest of the week is going to be rainy,-- well until Saturday anyway.
But then you know how that changes.
DH is out cutt5ing grass as I sit here. By Sunday it will not look like it has been cut but oh well, I guess one cannot cut it in the rain either.

I meant to tell you, Tamara. Sadly, I do not have a clothes line here, so I have to do all the wash in the dryer.

Going in a few minutes---"see" ya all later---bye wavy

Hit and miss...taking another break. Today isn't the best day..my insides are aching like fire. And my doctor is on vacation so I still haven't gotten a chance to get back in for a visit.

Got a call, my grandfather came out of the stroke with no severe damage they say...still no visiting today though.

Buy me two bags of mulch also Carol...I'll give you the money when you drop it off lol
Are you allowed to have a clothesline? Some places apparently they are banned~ craziest thing I've ever heard.

it is the upscale sub-divisions here that do not allow clotheslines. nor do they allow outsheds.
so to avoid that problem, people just build 3 car garages or they build a 2 car unattached garage--besides the 2 car attached garage they have.
I thought that one was ingenious.
after all one cant stop you from building a garage nor can they say what you can store in them. why

So glad to hear about your Grandfather. I hope things keep going well for him.
Continued prayers from me.

so sorry to hear about your insides. I hope your Dr will be back soon.I hope you did not tear something on the inside. Have yoi been lifting anything heavy, or tugging anything??

Ok 2 bags of mulch for Tamara, it is. Is hardwood OK??? But please, do you have a way that I can convince Rod that I should be able to bring it to you ??
see ya later--going now--bye
PS
and OH!!! yes I am allowed to have a clothes line--Rod just would rather NOT make me one--but then I have not been after him for one too hard either.

Thanks all....

On another note, I buy cedar mulch, usually the brown. In fact, Wal-Mart has names not colors..when I went and asked for brown mulch, they told me sorry we have none but we can sell you a hazelnut color touched Uh..that's brown lol

Well we had a break in the rain so I put on my boots, grabbed a shovel and spade and started dividing plants to fill in most of what died from winter-kill. We are in June but it really is probably like your early spring so we can divide for another few weeks with no trouble... Weeding was easy with the ground so wet thumbup

I have two spaces left to fill, I am definitely getting a Peony to fill one of them and have no clue about the other although I'd like a red carnation I think(I have a pink one and it blooms so beautifully)...I will never buy another tree or shrub again...all perennials from now on.

I'll take pics tomorrow, things are just starting to grow but I am excited anyway grin

sorry about the trees & bushes, Tamara. The peony & carnation sounds like grand ideas though. What color peony?? I have always wanted a red one. why

and about the easy weeding, I will have to agree with that. I am especially impressed with how dandiloins will pull out. thumbup

Tonight I am going to move 2 of my tomato plants. One of mine died, so I thought to move 2 o f the others so they are not so crowded. it is supposed to rain so much this next week, that I think they will not suffer too much from the move.
