So what's on your "want to plant" and "need to plant" list for this year?

I want to plant some sunflowers--Sheri & I are going to do it at the same time to see what happens.
Then I want some tomato & potato plants, of course. some sage & perhaps basil.I brought my chives with me from the farm--I hope they made it thru the winter-- nervous I planted them when the girls were small.

I also have to revamp my one flower bed.--it looks nice until about mid-summer. I need to make it a bit more sparce in spring.. blush

finally I would like to put a new bush in the front & possibley a new tree i n the back.
In my DREAM of DREAMS I would like to add a flower bed on the north side of the garage so I could have some shade or semi-shade plants. But that will be a fight with DH before that happensbecause it will mean more trimming for him come grass cutting time--- rolz

I'd really love to get a hold of a second-hand tiller this year, that's my main wish. Then I can put in larger vegetable gardens. A small mini greenhouse for tomatoes and peppers would be lovely also.

I am going to have to redo on of our shade areas because the new road caused some of the big trees to be cut down and now it's not shade anymore. It is full of hosta that isn't going to take kindly to all that sun. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all the hosta and not sure what I'm going to get to replace it. Maybe guara.

I have about 35 catalogs this year so far. Some wont give up.

I figured I will buy at the store an save the postage of sending.
Like I did yesterday.. I can get the seeds off the different dahlias an have oodles.
Oh how I like them.

The snow did beat up some of my littler shrubs.

Wow, 35. We only have one place to order from here..they send a veggie and flower seed catalog then a bulb catalog.

I usually buy my seeds at the local stores as well...but it's nice to have the option for that 'can't find item'....they get lots of sales for their special "Giant pumpkin" seeds.

I had to order a special kind of lilac(Sensation) a few years ago and am glad I did because they no longer sell or ship shrubs.

This year I am planting cucumbers, zucchini, butternut squash, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, tomatoes, tomatillo, bell peppers, and banana peppers. In the flower department I will be planting four o clocks. It wont be necessary to plant Hollyhocks; the ones i planted back in 2008 bloomed and seeds landed all over the place. They are beginning to invade my vegetable beds.

Waiting for fall...

barb, if you're using our camera you just push record and the sound happens too. At least it does with mine. Do you have it muted?

Wonder how Eva is doing with all the planting.

Did I answer this? I don't know what kind the hosta is but it didn't do well in the little bit of sun it got last year when only a few trees had been cut down so I know it wouldn't have done well since more trees are gone. We've moved it and it looks good.

Well my plant list so far includes (going smaller this year):

Planted: beans, peas, carrots, beets, cucumbers and strawberry runners.

Need to plant: turnips, tomatoes, peppers (those must be bought as seedlings)

Want to plant: Peony, coeropsis(none survived last winter).
