below is a photo of my wildflowers that grew from seed (from my valarie).
Can anyone tell me what is what---well besides the baby's breath that is???

And of course I know that the pink are Double Delight Echinacea--they are NOT part of the wildflowers, but merely growing next to them.

This is one of the wildflower mix flowers too. This is just a better view of it.

Here is one I almost missed.

[Linked Image]

I have a hard time keeping glads because the voles/moles like them.

That is a pretty glad.

I didnt know voles got them . I think they are killin my bulbs like tulips an lilys?
I planted castor bean in one bed to rid them? DOnt know if it works.

From what I've been told they will. I heard rabbits love lilies. I'll be finding out shortly since I planted one in the driveway bed.

I'm trying to surround my tulips, crocuses, glads and anything else that is bulb-like with daffodils. I've heard that most pests don't like daffodils or alliums for that matter.

So far I've surrounded one bed and it has protected the tulips that are planted there.

I had a bed with both in it back in the day--the moles came --they picked & chose.
all I had left were the daffs---

I'm worried about that. I know the rabbits can manage to go right around the allium to get to the dusty millers.

I bought some mesh to make boxes with, but it just seems so hard that I haven't even started making them.

Pretty flowers Carol!

I like your ROS - it has so many buds on it. You said you missed the first blooms - mine have always only bloomed one each season?

Sometimes blooms are prettier on the table than in the garden, I couldn't resist cutting this one stalk to take in, I added some astilbe leaves.

I'm not sure what these petunia type blooms are. They volunteer each year and smell wonderful. I usually only have white but this year some are lavender. I thought they were million bells but the plant nursery lady told me I was wrong and she has no idea what they're called and that they shouldn't reseed themselves. Oh well.

Below are my Surprise Lilies. There was a whole oval of them last year.
This year the left side of the oval is all that has bloomed so far--perhaps later the rest will come-- prayers

Very pretty all of them, Sheri. Birds can gift you with seeds of somethings, some times. Morning glories are not weedy here because we have to make an effort to water them.

Thanks Tamara,
How long are you staying there? How can a farmer stay indoors all day in the city?
IS it a large place?

Sheri, Dodge--very pretty flowers. I LOVE the multicolored zinnias, sheri-. I may have to hunt for some of them this next year---
When we were small at home my dad would always plant Gourds. It was such fun!!!

I have the morning glories in odd places like around my surprise lilies & my coconut limes. As they never want to flower, I usually pull them out.

Thanks everyone. dodge your yard is so pretty.

If I didn't pull up the morning glories they'd choke out every flower in my yard.
